BP can take the heat. Although I bet they weren't great boards. Jesus getting on those old Junkers is like comparing a new BMW to an old Valiant. Fking wobbly old V's tilting all over the shop.

MP was ahead of his time in shaping as well as surfing. Bottom contours and rails were usually pretty sophisticated within the limitations of the design. I read somewhere he started shaping the blanks backwards I.e. Tail to front...to get more tail rocker and less nose lift.

Last board of his I owned must have been one of the last he ever shaped. Done down at Fingal at the surf shop when he was hiding out down there. That was radical....a 5'10" stinger square tail with a channel running down the centre and widow maker fin set up. Got some good barrels at Broken Head on that board. Probably a collectors item if it was around now.

That’s really interesting beans. I love reading about that sort of stuff. I’m back in Bondi in a few weeks. Was gonna stay at Skip’s but I think it’d be more fun at your place. Cool?

Beans dishes it out all over, constantly, and has been for years. Anyone who feels he’s innocent isn’t paying attention. But he loves all the sympathy so go for it.

Agreed. He does. But sometimes it has a Lord of the Flies feel to it. It’s just a touch cringeworthy at times.

Imagine if the brilliant Bondi button Bandido wasnt on real surf? Not worth thinking about.

Beanpole is the soul of realsurf, the quiet achiever who clocks up all those hours at those iconic oz surfing beaches on whatever surf craft is appropriate for the day.

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

:D have a look in the mirror....of your gym.....okay.....your four buddies I suppose occasionally. Who I still conduct semi civilised conversations with when they aren't being dickheads. Now let's think of the feuds you've been involved in. Surf offs and Retravision encounters. Hello, Andy.
