Port is a good example of a town being too ‘retirement attractive’.
But still, Port probably wouldn’t make the Top 50 shit towns in Australia.

It is Boomer heaven up here. They are over-represented. Nice, new shiny mals everywhere, nice new cars. Friendly though. Guess you haven’t got much to worry about so you would be happy.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I've been surfing the local boomer hot spot the last few mornings.
Has had real fun waves for the twinny.
You get it pretty much to yourself until 7am and then as the crowd builds I'm pretty content to hop out after getting my fill.

It's become pretty gentrified. Audi Dealerships, etc. the good mooring makes it attractive. There's a lot of surf in the general area. Kempsey is considerably cheaper for the adventurous sporting shooter and Survivalist.
Last time I drove through Port we followed this little old lady after giving way to her so she could enter the roundabout in front of us. She then proceeded to cut across traffic, brake erratically and speed through traffic lights. Scared the shit out of us.

I only spent 4 days there and only bodysurfed, but Port seemed alright.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Speaking of tourists, my fam enjoyed the Port Macquarie museum and Koala wildlife park.
Surf was pretty shit at the time (December/January) but it was pretty shit everywhere then from Wollongong to Old Bar.

No. Reason enough right there for another offshore down under family vacation.
Gotta say the sweet old bitties manning the Port museum were pretty cool. Great great grandmums prossies no doubt. Salt of the earth.

There aren't any harliquin baby museums we may have missed are there?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I spent a week in Port Macquarie last year. Really nice spot. Some long term residents I know do wish the town wasn't growing so much.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah there’s a heap of housing developments going in around previously quiet places like Bonnie Hills, Lake Cathie etc.
Our PTB run the developed worlds highest rate of population growth.
Vote ‘em out.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeh, but the developers are all going bust 'cause no one is buying 'em.
