Do try to keep up, skip.

You're spending too much time in radical left land.

A week of good waves, despite the bastards opening all the river mouths along the coast, surfing in black water was getting a bit creepy.

I miss that part of my old job. Gellibrand is a pretty nice estuary. The channel narrows up past the camp. Not more than a couple of metres wide with indigenous riparian vegetation. 8 m deep

Can't navigate beyond the bridge that is intended for vehicle access up to Rivernook and Cats, but it's gated and locked by the farmer on the coast side. He did the lockout years ago, but then we (the taxpayers) built a new bridge. Rangers at Port Campbell told me at the time that public access was going to be re-established, but as soon as the bridge was completed, old mate put in new gates and locked 'em tight

That whole stretch coast is sharky as fcuk. Rivers open or closed doesn't matter

Swivel can you send me some more info about the access issue?
Jansons or Coxens?
That's right in the ACS wheelhouse, I'll get the board onto it next week.

Jansons

Up until 10 - 12 years ago, you could drive through. The bridge was pretty shitty and the track wasn't that great, particularly in the wet. Heard a couple of stories about people doing the wrong thing like not closing gates and chopping up the pasture. Understandable the farmer got sick of it

New bridge went in about 6 or 7 years ago (my memory ain't anything like yours). Parks Vic were our client for the river phys chem profiles. As soon as construction started on the new bridge I asked about access and they were seemingly certain it would be reopened to the public. Why else would a bridge be publicly funded? The farmer locked the gates immediately upon bridge completion. Last time I was there was about 18 months ago and the gate was still locked

On the day two surfers were attacked by sharks around Gracetown, a shark watch helicopter crew member says he saw fifteen large sharks between North Point and Kilcarnup.

Not much more than a year of data to draw solid conclusions, but here’s a monthly summary of GWS tags from the DPI drumlines from Lennox to Forster, Dec 2016 to March 2018.

What do you make of it? Water temps, whale migration? Fish schooling (or absence)? Sure only one year but looks like a pattern

Hopefully the DPI are putting all that data together.
And will publish findings, given its taxpayer funded.
I merely input a few numbers into excel two hours per month, out of interest.

But yes lower water temps and whale season might be the biggies.
