It was a non-surf trip with Mrs Cranked and two old friends, both female.

If we liked the place I might have started spending the Indo wet seasons there with my wife.

But we found it very expensive compared to Indo - like triple - and there were a lot of dirty, ugly towns, including Kandy.

Plus longer flights and travel. Mrs Cranked wasn't impressed, so I'll be spending the wet season in Perth riding my bikes as usual.

Nah, it has to be something my wife wants to do. If she'd liked Sri lanka we could have spent a few months there each year surfing and hanging out

Not for her. I lived in Canberra for three years though and got right into skiing there and NZ.

Surfing, skiing and bikes, the best three sports imo.

From the age of 8 until 16 I played rugby league and union at school and on weekends.

I was ok at it, enough to get selected in the St. George rep team, but when I discovered surfing I was hooked.

Whoooeee, geriatric sex!

Sorry, nothing to report.

Mrs Cranked is still suspicious that my platonic relationship with a 30 something year old German journalist (occasionally surf) in Bali was actually an affair though.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I remember playing a guy from Saints as a kid. He wore those tight hibiscus panelled Quickies as footy shorts. 5/8. One if the best footy players I'd played against or seen. Pretty sure he sold his soul to the devil of surfing. Was that you Cranked?
