Re: Summer
fcuk yeah.
I sat under a pandanus tree and watched a fun and completely empty lineup because I didn't want to sit out there alone.
3ft wedges, blue water, sunshine.
Finally x and y paddled out and I joined. It was 2-3ft then a 5-6ft set every hour. One single 4-6ft wave then nothing. Back to 3ft.
Then a 12 wave 6foot set that cleaned up the entire lineup. Then an hour lull.
Fun, albeit frustrating. It was a like a second hand lawnmower roaring to life then spluttering and dying in the arse.
Still looks exactly the same now. Maybe smaller.
I can't see 12 ft surf from the E and maybe even 6ft might be a stretch.
That 12 wave set might have even been it.

TC Fehi is a rapidly weakening system racing through the swell window.....if I see a 6 foot wave tomorrow I'll personally cart you via rickshaw to Berts and shout you Siberian caviar and blinis.
Bon appétit, Nicko.steve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 2:51 pm

Had a great day yesterday and a quick one early this morn. Was debating driving south this arvo but my mate said it's blown out. Probably lying.

How big was Nationals Trev?
And crowd.
It's 3ft here and looking pretty weak and windy.

Re: Summer
Exactly, it was fun.
It was no serious E swell.
Just had a long look on dark: 3-4ft.....maybe the odd 5ft set. Not much energy as the tide came in.
I'm quite confident now in saying this swell is as it appeared ......a very fast moving system that was severely duration limited.
Unless we wake up and it's 8ft tomorrow morning.
I got some weird elbow injury today...anyone had that? A dull ache with weird twinges.

Sounds like a flexor strain. Does it hurt when you flex against resistance?

Re: Summer
yeah, not much more than without resistance though.

Its a pity that Nick died, he'd a probably been able to help you with a diagnosis.steve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 8:02 pmyeah, not much more than without resistance though.

The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
Re: Summer
Yeh, I'd still ice it. Don't think you need the ibuprofen. Maybe compression as well. See how it feels in the morning.
Re: Summer
Not super big Steve. 3 to 4 ft. Some serious overhead ones being picked up out past the jump off slab. But a long wait for those sets. Tide buried it about 8 o'clock. Back by 9 though. There's a serious sand slug just off the entrance to the park. Made for some quick sections to get past the rocks before heading into Johnson's. While bunch of guys and gals sitting just outside waiting for you to get buried.steve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 4:36 pmHow big was Nationals Trev?

Crowd was OK. Wish I was fitter so I could hassle a bit more.
It's a different wave. I actually have to be about 6" further forward on my board when paddling to be able to catch them early enough.
Apparently some good stuff at Alex.
