Cranked - we cube monkeys live vicariously with your updates. Reminds of what we could be doing.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well fcuk then...
I've been here just over two weeks and the surf has been mainly head to double and fcuk all people out, consequently I've had more decent waves than anytime in my surfing life, including one of the best waves ever.
Having a quiver of boards that suit me perfectly has really helped as well.
Conditions though are funky it's often onshore. But the winds are light and variable: most days it will go offshore for a few hours and if you are on it you score big time, solo or a handful of surfers.
There's also hours and hours of near empty line-ups, well overhead, light onshore - good reasonably clean conditions by most world standards, but not the perfection surfers here expect.
With the variable winds though every spot on the island is a possibility, so the natural footers are at the dozens of westerly spots instead of the trade wind classics.
The Mt Agung tremors are having an effect on the number of surfers as well no doubt.

Four hour session this morning. Started head and a half, no wind, but a little bumpy, waves ok.
After two hours I was thinking of going in, just sitting at swimming pools, waiting. A double overhead set came swinging in, biggest of the day. Got an absolute screamer half way into the Bingin bay, 300m.
And then it was on for two more hours. Glassy now. I was on a 7'4, I sat at swimming pools, 50m further inside and 30m further out than the pack and got set waves for 200m+ again and again for two more hours, I could do wrong.
Stumbled to shore and crawled up the cliff. Winds have turned onshore now, maybe a late glassoff.
Hahaha. Bali sucks, everyone knows.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Is Geoff giving up shaping or just doing customs?steve shearer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2017 10:20 amJust went into the factory where Geoff's boards were made and ogled the last McCoy stock boards in Aus.

One of the good things about machine shaping is a shaper lives forever in his CAD files. I hope he has some copies in a secure place(s).

Nice! I’ve never surfed the right on the inside. Only the Bombie off the back the island.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yesterday 4-5 foot slamming closeouts and today 3-4 foot of the same. Think I’ve done only two turns in two days

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Fun this morning. Super glassy, peaky, and all to myself. The usual suspects were crowded by daylight. Amazing what a short drive can get you.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Today started off with such promise. Swell forecast was good, double overhead was on the cards, winds light offshore, high tide at 9am meant in the water at first light with a good 2 hours of uncrowded surf (too early for all the euro's)
I was in the water at first light, perfect conditions. Spectacular cloud formations, mount Agung visible above the cloud, thunder and lightning in one quarter, clear sky in other, a few light showers.
But no surf.
