I like sunny weather and the offshore winds but is just a few waves in the middle of winter too much to ask for?
Looks like your (our) prayers have been answered - Thurs-Monday - offshore and large south swell. Finally...

Weekend looking the goods on your side, Rustt. WSW direction again, but @ 5-6 m over the whole weekend, surely it will be hitting the coast? Big chance I'll be venturing over

yeah it's been a bit chillier down here but only overnight mins......average temp when I've been going rockfishing before first light is 3-6 degrees, add wind chill and it's cold. Beanies, hoodies and thick socks with thongs

thing is, soon as the sun comes up it's back to shorts, teeo's and thongs.

Segue

Mate I met first year of undergrad in 1995 died on Friday. Just 40. Adored wife & toddler child now without him. Worked tirelessly and grossly underpaid in environmental advocacy since graduation. Some might be dismissive, but I loudly applaud him as the only one I know to have received a personal letter from Al Gore thanking him for his contribution. While I've long been pessimistic about the future we have in store, he remained optimistic and did his very best to save us from ourselves. Did his best in all other aspects too. I'm going to miss the crazy fcuker

Myocardial infarction. Overweight. Always had the propensity to stack it on, but was a fit young bloke into surfing and skateboarding. Went quite sedentary a few years back - long commutes to work and long working hours. It wasn't as if he (and all who knew him) didn't know he was heading that way, but I don't think any of us expected it quite so soon

Might want to edit that swivel, took me all of 3s to find his name.

I wonder about people who are worried about the future but don't stay healthy. Especially when they have kids.

I took his name out knowing it'd be an easy find if someone wanted too. And then thought it didn't really matter. S'pose I should though

On the healthy bit, it is weird. It was an open and ongoing conversation - at least among mates

I will be working dawn till midday but looks like a nice low tide around 1 so I'll see how it is on the incoming.
Will be on the hunt on the slightly more exposed breaks on Monday though.
