My only concern with the review was that he dived with the watch after the sauna which may have effected the waterproofing. I always thought the 30mtrs bit didn't really mean they were waterproof anyway.

The one I linked is 50m water resistant so totes fine

I had one I used for swimming laps. It lasted about 6 months with lots of button pushing.
I bought a 'surf watch' at 70% off; its still working but the tide info etc is useless

"To grovel or not to grovel? This is the question"
Of late when it's been 1-2ft I've been riding my 6'3 CV2 fish or my DVS All Rounder (7'4) . They aren't really meant for the small stuff, a few lads on here would say the CV2 needs juice, the All Rounder is an incredible board that really has a 2-5ft range.
Question is do you keep riding a board like the CV2 and try to make is work in small weak waves. It works but you work and ultimately you remain surf fit. The All Rounder in small stuff is a fun cruiser that turns, nose rides etc...or
Does one buy a full short board groveller for ease of paddling and get a little shortboard turning arc...sorter best of both worlds?

Do you own a full set of golf clubs or just play the whole course with a nine iron ?

Depends on the kind of small surf. It's steep with good shape ride a short board.

Yeah but a lot of the Sydney beaches ain't the same as dbah or north wall for that matter. Lots of lumpy uneven stuff to contend with much of the time, unless the conditions are really good.
He seems to be after a board for grovel conditions (small weak waves)

Put some side bites from your 7'4" as rears in your CV2 and try that it out. Or twins in the front and no rears.

Or, god forbid keels! The blurb on board cave mentions keels for small days though the front boxes look a bit far forward. Might be fun as.

I'm sure there'd be a real surfer who'd lend you some if you were keen to try them. But yeah, some people don't like them, others harbour secret shameful feelings about smooth carving drive and swooping turns.

I like the twinny feeling but I've never really tried to master the full twin feeling. I had a MR mega twin but rode it with a trailer and the Quartet is a twin with two trailers.
Just got a little tax refund, was going to put it towards a holiday with the kids, think I'll buy some Rasta keels instead.
BTW I have futures Controllers I don't use as I don't have futures boxes. Anyone wants a lend happy to stick in the post.

That's the realsurf spirit.
