Yeah I think i need to surf it on a twin fin and send it north a few times to add some zest to it. It was pretty boring at fat 2-3 foot on a single fin.
Seems just like a longer version of arrawarra
Yep, only got into it again when I started riding a mal. It's much better out the end in an East Swell. You tend to not get those big foam balls rolling around the point. You get a refractory peak off the headland. Mal, fish, that kind of thing is the go. How was the beach break?
Yeah I figured some east and size in the swell would be much better.
The beachie was ok, kinda. but there were beachies all over, nothing epic (lot of fast straight stuff) but there were some good runners amongst it, from laureton thru bonny hills and lake Cathie etc. you'd need to find a bank though .

Fcuken hell, it's supposed to be tiny at JBay today but no, still 4' Iggy measure, straight as and light dead offshore SW. All the professional surfers have left! Ha ha! Imagine flawless super bank over half-reef, half-sand, with about twice the power and 20 people out.
Surfed anywhere else while you've been there NIck?
nope. I'm too engaged with this spot. I can see a bunch of beachies further along the coast but they can wait.

Was that surf on a Sunday? I found a strange idiosyncrasy was Sunday was the least crowded day at supers.

Two days at my local picking up the dregs of this south swell.
Not big but lining up beautifully with plenty of oomph for power turns. And several all the way in to the beach. Each time you have to make the decision. Paddle back or walk back out to the keyhole.
I'm too old for three surfs a day like Iggs but a couple of hours from first light is more than enough for me.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Just got in from beach in Ballina. Was 3ft with the odd bigger one when I first paddled out, now it's dropped back to 2ft plus (as pictured). Really sprinty earlier on, makeable but you had to tear down the line fast. Surfed the 6'2'twin with the deep single concave. Went like the clappers, and still managed a few turns in spite of how fast the waves were running down the line.
Real shark awareness vibe in the water. Saw two modom shark shield leggies, one board painted up with black and white stripes, and lots of slow paddling, and not sitting up on the board, it's was lying down with legs up.

Not really. There were a half dozen others out so I wasn't too concerned. And I've seen sharks before a few times at north straddie. That said I'm not too keen to surf north wall unless there's a crew out. I wouldn't solo surf there
