Well, not all rail turns Dav. Some of the hacks that JJF does carry nearly as much risk factor as a big air. But how often do you see a pro fall on the ones that Turpel calls a big down carve? Almost never

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

That drift Jordy did in his 'perfect' heat was next-level.

No they don't fall. For them the carves are pretty much sexed up transition turns.

My fcuken god almighty it is Pumping here right now. I'm trying to write a story in a room overlooking Supertubes and I've had to turn the computer around so I can't look at the surf.

Fcuk! Parko just got about a 15sec barrel from the top of Supers down to the end. Flicked off and he's just sitting there.

Why did Toledo dye his hair gray. Brother from one grey man to another, stay raven as long as you can. Stay raven.

God he's ripping, hows his set up bottom turn. Great

That's an interesting point equating a rail turn to a safety turn. Don't disagree and an interesting point to ponder.
Toledo was crazy in the final heats. Managed to get the last two heats on the TV.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

How about this.......why does the scoring have to have a ceiling?
Ten could be a benchmark, but could go a little higher if the ride warrants it.

Very good Trev :-D-:

I supect the WSL wants an easy-to-comprehend narrative for the elusive masses in Dumbshit, Indiana who are all poised to adopt surfing as their favourite pastime. Ditch the ten as the acme and you end up in a dark new world of unwanted explanations

The 0.01 is derived from the 0.1 differential. 5 judges score. Highest and lowest discarded. Score is the mean of the 3 retained
Eg. 9.1 8.9 9.1 9.2 9.3
8.9 & 9.3 discarded
(9.1 + 9.1 + 9.2) / 3 = 9.13
You are welcome

What is sometimes more interesting is the range of scores from the judges eg Freds second counted wave in the final had scores of 9.8, 9.2, 9.5, 9.5, 8.8 (looks low).

So the 9.8 and 8.8 were dropped for wave score of 9.4

Is the answer to the 10 dilemna to set an event benchmark for something considered nearly impossible.

You want a 10 at J Bay? A 10 second barrel past impossibles or 2 Oops plus 6 turns on one wave.

You want an 7? 6 - 7 turns, all committed nd all different.

Anything less than that starts with a 4.

I have to say I liked the fact Telodo seemed to surf a lot more top to bottom (and above) than say JJ who seems to like to hang mid face to top.

Please remember me giving him a wrap for his performance at Margaret.

The other question of course with all these 0.05 score differences is unconscious bias. Does the fact that he died his hair light change how we see his performance?
Does Toledo thinking that improve his performance?
