you know what, you are dead right, save the travel for south swell and offshore winds.

I'd be straight down to the hangliding spot in those conditions.

it's a bit of a write off up here, really.

grade 6 rapids moving you to the north so fast it's pot luck if you get a good one. nothing to do with skill.

At my local, on bigger days, the curreent actually pulls you south INTO the takeoff zone.
Really makes a mess of non locals who suddenly find themselves in the drop zone.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

A mixed bag. Some were pinching off a little fast, makeable but you really had to put the sprints on. Others were reeling off like a point break. You had to pick your waves. my wave in ran for at least 100 metres, from the dunny bowl thru to the seals club.

fun, but the extra bit's gone out of the swell. just a smaller version of yesterday's underlying long range easterly pulse. good day for a small reef.

think I'm gonna go down to Bells, rustt might be all "wankers" etc but I've known the Brooks family since before Shaun was born, and they're fine with people surfing during the event as long as you give plenty of room.

even if it's not on it's still gonna be somewhat off the hook.

we've had over 500mm of rain since the start of June : that's over 20 inches on the old scale. My brocolli has gone soft and soggy with some kind of clubrot, the water is filthy and bullsharks are wandering down the main street masquerading as real estate agents, stealing brown sangas from aging fishos.
I just got a yyuuuuuge tax bill and demand notice in the mail....like pay up cnut or we are sending the debt collectors. And I thought I was on top of that.

On the positive side, soccer training is cancelled today due to soggy grounds.

I'm working on California.......it'll go close to killing me the way I want to do it....but all this training has to count for something.

christ don't go to Trestles. It is the worst event on tour. soo deeply dispiriting. If one wrote a book about it one would call the book "Bros In The Dust"

So disappointing today, after a great session yesterday I just couldn't get my timing or rhythm together today. Bummed out. Pulled back on a couple I should have gone and went for a few I shouldn't have.

Got a nice one toward the end at least.
