i'll be getting that emery next week or early the one after, hopefully. asked him to beef up the rails and make 'em boxy.

speaking of rails, the best rails on a board i've ever, ever had, and I don't say this lightly is that custom Semi Pro 12 from merrick i have. Had it out this autumn in total backless, square beachies and it is like a homing pigeon for the channel.

that inside rail just sticks to the wall, you reach the bottom and it just hits the nitrous and spits you out. Old slater should never have tried to create his own path in boards. he hasn't declined as much as he's no longer on the magic board. imo

I saw one of those on the site a few days ago. High volume all rounder. His boards are refined so that would be sweet as

For that board make an exception re fin boxes!!
Interesting with the fin box

Yep. Was a dent to the ego realising the outer islands I had, I wasn't going to use in the waves it was really meant for. Not anytime soon anyway. Ditto my 7'4" JD, but that's a special board. That one above would be a good all rounder I reckon.

i like the look of the outer islands mondo much more. it's exactly my type of board.

http://www.outerislandsurfboards.com/boards/mondo.html

"A great performance all rounder in the mid length range. Semi double ender outline, fast single to double concave and spiral chine entry. This board is a hi performance alternative delivering great paddling, smooth glide and transitions for everyday surfing and point breaks. A great choice for guys who enjoy surfing classic lines and for the larger rider."

Just about every Outer Island looks good to me.
Still got a Smarty, great board, but might go a little more 'middle aged man' for the next one.

7 by 21 by 2 3/4, but it's smaller than it sounds on paper.
Very foiled, heaps of rocker in back end, quite rolled deck into low soft rails. Quad.

I remember the bloke from Aloha Manly Style tried to see me a Smartboard about 10 years ago as a bigger guy board, he described it as the "gourmet" of boards. I still laugh about that sales pitch to this day.

Admittedly they are really well made boards. Super refined, right up your alley
