Yeah I'm generally about 92Kgs when in shape, about 4 Kgs up at the moment.
Still, even a springy is very liberating compared to this steamer. Definitely time for a new one.

Pretty rare for a full suit of any kind to add more than about a half kilo when wet. Usually more like 300ml

Bad or old rubber is a real physical restraint though, it adds up through all the little repeated movements we make while surfing. Extra linings can also restrain the rubber's movement a bit.

there have been some artificial reefs for surfing, but all have failed. Might be the design or the quality etc (Boscombe Surf Reef?)

Just for Nick - ex HMAS Tobruk is going to be sunk

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/quee ... 103530b5e4

I gather the main issue with ex warships is that they tend to be built with, and filled with, stuff you dont want leaching into the ocean over the years. Costs more to sink them than to pull them apart.
They are pretty thorough in their cleaning of these ships before being sunk. And there are ships sunk, paid for by government, which are scuba dive only sites (HMAS Adelaide off Avoca), as opposed to the artificial reefs created for fishos and funded by rec fishing licences. So see no reason why surfers can't agitate for surf sites being created, and paid for, by government.

It was removed at Batoes' request. He said when he originally started it that if he got a result he'd want it removed.
There was some discussion about it at the time. many felt it was a great piece of Realsurf history and should be preserved.
But Batoes repeated his request for its removal which was pretty much his right I guess.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Russell Ord is the premier photog down at The Right amongst other heavy areas, so expect it to feature heavily.

Cheers, Legion, I'll try to catch it. I have instant exposure where I am now, but I've never been a serious big wave surfer and I'm too old and busted up to start. I like to watch the crazy fcukers paddle it and I'll see a bit more of it very soon. 'tis the season
