I tried out bunch of fins on a recent trip. Couldn't feel any difference in the materials on any of them.

Two fin sets I used had a real noticeable 'performance' difference. A set of TC redlines had a real noticeable impact on my backhand bottom turn, top turn combo. Allowed me to really push through turns. The others were a set of H2's, didn't like them at all, felt a bit slippery, for want of a better word.

Tried a bunch of other sets in different templates and materials and they felt pretty much all the same.

I tend to see template shape as more important than material to the performance of surfboards.......but I could be convinced otherwise if someone sibs me a few sets to try.

just that wide pod with a diamond tail; the curves don't look that pleasing.

The tail is pretty wide. Will soon see how it goes. As long as it can smash up small low period mush I'll be happy

The spray is exactly that of the LB twin. Though different colours. The board is totally different to anything I've owned before. In particular the wide point being notably back from centre.

Hope it goes great. In line with something I've just done. Been away for a few days down on the Mornington Peninsula. Went and had a chat with Mick Pierce. He's making me a twinnie. Full fcuking circle. We talked for a couple of hours about all sorts of stuff. He pulled out a template from 1979. First board he ever made me was that template. Little tweak to it and modernised, but it will be the same colour as that first one. He still has the same container of tint. I know it's exactly what I need now my shoulder's fcuked. And I know it'll be fcuking unreal. The man's a master of the craft. Been awhile since I had a proper whiff of where boards are made too. Loved it

I had one of these, it was unreal fun. Looks similar in the tail and volume of the back end. It was 6ft, went in head high above no probs. Hope it's a keeper.

Was supposed to let the board cure for another week (it'd already been 8 days) but temptation got the better of me.

So far, have surfed it at town beach port Macquarie (1-2ft) ocean view just north off Coffs (2ft+) and seven mile just north of Lennox (3ft+).

Early observations.

Super fast, really quick off the mark, keeps consistent speed even through fat dead sections (seems to skim straight over them).

Loose and lively in the tail, but really grippy in the face when turning and putting the board on rail.

Goes north with ease. Got some got vert reo type turns going on closeout sections, and linked up about 3 or 4 consecutive forehand snaps on a racey section. Managed to get a couple of little tubes on the rock/sand bank at ocean view, the board felt comfortable. Cutbacks feel fine.

After 3 surfs on it, it's feeling great so far. It should serve the purpose fine as an everyday board for small-mid sized beachies. But probably wouldn't want to paddle out in anything big and serious on it.

Nice, must be happy it goes vert as it looks like it would have a decent cuttie with those big fangs on the back.

Looking forward to getting it going backhand. Only had two lefts on it so far but both waves fizzled out early.
