Absolutely fcuken incredible.
Started well with a good end to March and early April and I got some great surfs in
Last week was utterly incredible - and I missed it with a torn calf muscle from playing footy

Look, OK, cards on the table. I fcuked my father up the arse. It was in the car immediately following my mother's funeral and on the way to the wake.

Seen some pics on FB going around of some absolute beast waves today. That "south facing reef" nearby looking insane. Five times plus overhead and thick as hell.

5/10.
there was surf every day, most of it fun.
but there was not much of a typical autumn pattern. summer ran on into mid-april then winter kicked in Mid-May

Just me or has the northern NSW / SE QLD coast had more decent size swells from the south than normal? like really south - 8 foot on the open side, 1 foot on the protected side stuff. Everytime we have a semblance of a beach break here on the exposed beach one of these swells arrives and blows it up.
And then there was the clean as north swell last wednesday that hit the coast at about a 45 degree angle - the south side back beach was running nearly parallel to the beach a la skeleton bay.
Weird old autumn for sure - some gold in between some very mediocre weeks.

Great. Last day* today and I surfed a draining left bank on my own at lunchtime
* I really think winter doesn't start until the solstice, but this year it could well be a bit early - today does feel very atumnal though

Did much of that recent huge south swell make its way up north ?

The reefs offshore from Cronulla were copping 12-15 foot. Surely Lennox would've at least got 6-8 foot ?

nah, it only got 3-4ft here, maybe a touch bigger but the peak of that swell was definitely the Illawarra/Cronulla.
