Re: Where did you surf today ?
Get a look in up at the southern corner in Mooloolaba?
The Cooly points besides Kirra were flawless, most perfect wide open grinders breaking at an ideal speed. Actually too perfect as nobody was falling off or missing sections.
I got burned really badly by a local wannabe pro-ho on a gaper too. Filthy.
Insane crowds and barely any sweep meant 5 guys taking off on every wave.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah that's where we bodysurfed.
Was oddly small and closeout city.
Alex had the biggest crowd of teabaggers I've ever seen, and for such a crap wave. Was even worse everywhere south of there.

Yep the Cooly crowds were pretty fcuked but it was still possible to jag them though, and it was as perfect as I've seen/surfed it. That little marley section was ridiculous.
Were you out there around low ER?

There have been epic waves for days up here if ya know where to look Boo. Some spastically crowded some not.
Plenty of clips around of Happy Valley over weekend. Swellnet have just put up one with possibly the best waves/worst surfers combo of all time!!
I surfed uncrowded bank near here for hours yesterday..
Monday AM Sunny Hoax

Yeah I know, lostman, wrong time and place.
Was driving around like headless chicken. Knowing it was firing everywhere except where I was.
Bit of poetic license used as well.

Nice photo lostman.
Surfed a square reef break this morning, too straight mostly but good to be out there.
The point this arvo. Stupidly fast but perfect shape. Like a drawing in your school book.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Paddling out yesterday morning in less than ideal conditions, grey, overcast, 4 ft and all over the place with plenty of water moving around, got caught in front of a rock platform with wedging closeouts slamming on the bank just off the rock shelf. Rip running through it which made it more ugly. Board got ripped out of my hands about 5 times. Got hammered, repeatedly. At one point i tried to duck dive a set, not quite realising how shallow the bank was and the nose just dug into the sand. Board ripped out of my hands i got worked again. After about 20 on the head i was ready to toss it in. Completely spent and almost puking from the effort of pushing through relentless dredging sets. Finally made it out and nearly puked again but after a few minutes catching my breath the rip shifted and turned the right hander we were trying to surf into shit. Chopped up double folding stand up pieces of shit that wouldn't let you in. Continuous paddle to stay in the spot. Caught 2 shitty waves and came in, spent.
This swell hasn't been good on the sth coast, especially the beaches. Has fcuked the banks. Wrong direction for a lot of reefs too.

There's been a lot of water moving about with the recent run of swell. Even today at only a mushy two foot plus there was water and current moving all over.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah, pretty shitty swell signatures overall. Has been 2 swells in the water generally with similar periods but slightly different directions which has resulted in close period crossovers with double ups and cancellations. Not good on the beaches with heavy rips and ill-defined banks.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
From Friday and Saturday, three to four foot peaks, glassy morning and offshore afternoons, fast hollow and shreddable, everyone frothing over how good it was, nsw beachies...think I will retire cause it can't get any better

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Actually looked up stiff necks from surfing and found a surf fitness site. They had a pretty simple exercise where you get one of those stretchy rubber thingos, stand on it and pull up with your hands by your side and bend your neck to the side. Quite a few cracks and really relieved the constriction better than just about anything else I've tried.
Lucky the female members of the household had one of those stretchy things.
