It'd also be a great little testing lab for fin combos, board design, etc.
Especially here on the east coast, conditions vary so much from day to day , hell hour to hour, wave to wave that I'm never sure if a change I make is having the effect I'm going for. By keeping the wave the same the equipment is the variable. Almost like a wind tunnel.
Might get boring after a while, but I'd love to bring my whole quiver and all my fins, and just surf the shit out of everything for a week straight.

Interesting to see where this goes, doubt it will affect me in my lifetime. My guess is it will start out with resorts in tropical places with trade winds so it can be outdoor and guests can book a session 24/7 and pay twice/thrice what they would in the Ment's/Tavaru. No shortage of swell.
Imagine an inflatable reef, pump a bit of are in a section and that section pops up on the next wave, no reason why you couldn't have a section sucking dry on an air bag.
I'm thinking the first public waterpark type set ups will be set up in high desnity surfing population tourist spots, Los Angeles/ Gold Coast either indoor or arena type set up due to variable winds, not many will pay to surf onshore slop.

The more I think about it the more it repulses me. It's an abomination.

Notice Nicks a convert too.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

can't see how they could charge you per ride. what if you blow a take off, or catch a rail on the 1st turn? or heaven forbid, somebody drops in on you? based on that they'd have to charge you on a time limit. depending on running costs, it could be a bit exxy ... 100 clams for 20 minutes or something?

i'm probs in the minority, but there's something about poo brown, tidal bore looking water that i want no part of. i like the idea of wave pools though. anything that homogenises surfing and possibly removes people from the ocean on any given day is a good thing.

Who would really convert to surfing after going to a wave pool?. Even in "Dubbo dave" spent months at a wave pool and got right into it, the first time he tried to go out through a shore break, or lost his board, or just simply rocked up expecting perfect waves and saw the average east coast pus 3 times out of 4, it'd knock the wind right out of their sails.

don't forget there's sharks. lots of fucking sharks in the sea. don't go out there bruh.

and even if the wave pool surfers did convert into ocean surfing, it takes years. literally years to be able to paddle an ocean and read one. but i'm guessing they won't wanna leave the shallow end of their wave pool.

Well they've proven they can make a good wave - can they make it commercially viable?
It will have to be cheap enough to attract plenty of paying punters and often, or it simply won't fly.

The video seems to have been carefully shot to NOT show any working backgrounds.
