What Saltman said.
Re: Ask Kook
Ran down to the edge to jump in, the drop off was deeper than I expected and I fell forward onto the board and split my lip open.
Paddled out as though nothing happened and everyone was polite enough to not say anything.
Another time I picked up the board from a ding repair where my arse snapped a fin off. Put the leggy on and went out. First wave, couldn't control the board, second wave the same. looked at the board and realised I'd forgotten to put the fins back in.

Mick, therefore Mick, and therefore Mick.

I hope you're right.chrisb wrote:Mick, therefore Mick, and therefore Mick.
Still confident on that call?
Toledo and De Souza don't exactly have the toughest round 3 opponents, however Mick has a battle on his hands.
Re: Ask Kook
Still hoping..........judges don't deny Mick his fairytale ending. An (Aussie) journalist's dream.

I, too, am pulling for Mick. I'm also rooting for him and plugging for him. My hard support is for Mick, and I'm hoping he rises for the occasion. I hope he comes first. I'm sure he will. Cream always rises to the top. He's ahead of the competition, and a win will top a big year for him. Another world title will be Mick's crowning glory, a threesome, um I mean a triple crown will be even better.

Re: Ask Kook
In the absence of any regular posting to 'Ask Kook' a question since last year (how rude!) I will.
Dear Mr/Ms Kook. What is your opinion on today's revelation that Rip Curl have been getting their overpriced 'apparel' knocked up for peanuts in North Korean gulag slave labour factories? RC has said it's all a silly mistake with their subcontractor (note to all entrepreneurs - always stay at arms length when any shonky business involved) but isn't it time to recognise that the big corporates of the surfing world have become as remote as possible from the supposed ideals of freedom, the stoke of nature and good times that a surfing life brings. it surely isn't being experienced by any of the workers in the sweatshops of that lunatic state.
The good news is that Rip Curl have granted a wild card entry to their Bells contest for the top North Korean surfer to compete. The bad news is that Kim Juong Un will have the bloke shot if he doesn't win it.

Re: Ask Kook
According to his official biography Kim has already won the Bells contest twelve times and has just defeated the imperialist running dog Kelly Slater in the WCT so no, he's not interested.
