Re: Where did you surf today ?
Had super fun surf yesterday with nice clean 3-5 foot waves with some power to them. It was inspiring to surf with Mike Esposito (former South African pro and big wave hellman). As he heads towards 60 years old Mike was still ripping and dominating . If I can surf half as good as him when I'm pushing 60 I will be a happy man. It was inspiring to watch this guy just charge and then rip the bag out of every wave. The bigger the wave the more Mike rips.

Wow Mike Esposito there's a blast from the past. Saw him out in the water quite a few times in Sth. Africa, great surfer.
How did you know it was him Natho?

Ive known Mike for years through the local boardriders comp scene and surf with him a fair bit. He is one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. Just waiting for my invite on one of his yearly Billabong trips to Tavarua. Bastard

Waist to chest at my usual. Pre 5am paddle out. Managed to jag 2 random head high waves that held up and ran beautifully down the bank. My knee even allowed a decent re entry. Stoked
Re: Where did you surf today ?
This morning, East kilcunda. Nice lefthander peak running at about 3 foot. Then the wind picked up and destroyed it. Yesterday, berry beach PI. Onshore but powerful 2 foot plus. Wedgy bowling rights. Steep and throaty.
Water temps about 18+ degrees. Very doable in boarders. Looking forward to the coming days, with increase in swell. Gonna see if I can catch up with grooter while I'm down here...

I don't think I'll even be out in my springy in 18-19 degree water.

Very bumpy north facing with waist to chest high waves coming in at all angles. But it was the best on offer.
Nothing exciting but was out at the same time as Pam Burridge, who was teaching one on one (not me). Delightful person, smiling almost the entire time, chatting with everyone and laughing away. Would get her pupil on a wave then catch the next one in herself, on a long foam beginners board but still managing to hang 5 or a great top turn. Impressive, and this was 0700 and she probably had a few classes still ahead of her.

Snapper, Rainbow, Greenmount on a Roxy Softop. Rented for $10 from a nice Indonesian lady who was looking after her baby in the surf school van. Super crappy but hey the sun was out, Greenmount looks better than Clarkes where I was yesterday and I'm flying back to Sydney this arvo. Really sunburnt.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
