Scored a stack of waves on my new 7'6 single fin this morning at elouera.
Nice vibe in the water this morning.
Great conditions, flicked of just as the onshore hit.
Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.

Lucky Al looks like George Downing at Makaha in 1949. I'm going all tingly.

thanks for the kind words. it was just me out as the local kids stick to the shorebreak on their pieces of rubber/bodyboards, and the men of the village just squat around the top of the stairs leading to the beach talking about the approaching storm. it hit that night pretty hard, a wild wind that took down dozens of trees in the area and heavy rain that made a few huge boulders roll off the hill behind the village onto the highway. pretty far out!

What about now, Al, since the surfing? Surely you have some elevated status among the men of the village? And the girls? I reckon yours is the skin to be in right now

You mentioned that they were in Hanoi before, but I didn't query it. Until then, I had thought you'd all moved down there. Getting bored, lonely and scared without them is no real surprise

Been quite a few shark sightings around Fingal to Byron stretch past few days, Hardly makes the slop we have now worth it.

Waist to head high gutless and clean this morning. Good enough for me and my dodgy knee ( haven't surfed in a month :( ). Great to paddle out at 5am for the first time in a while.

Alexandra Headland. 3 foot. 5 foot faces on some of the sets. But heaps of push. People struggling to paddle out. Untidy, but lots of waves. Fun fun fun. Quite a few people watching.

Big bad Bondi you Fcukers. And I got a few waves in the crowd which included Nippers and Bronte to Bondi swimmers.

Also did a great somersault finish on a bodysurfing shoot early this morning. This landed me in waist deep water rather than being projected straight onto the dry sand by the wicked shorey. 3-)

Had a super fun surf mid morning on my new Pyzel. What an awesome little stick. Did everything and went everywhere I wanted it to without hesitation. Until I creased the fck$a believe it or not coming into shore on my gut. Luckily its a very shallow crease and did not go through the stringer. Should be a pretty easy fix but i had to retire the board until fixed.

Yesterday. 2ft beachie and reef in Kiama. Beachie was dredging semi closeouts. Sectioning freight training stuff, but managed to get a nice cover up on one of the more peaky/shouldering ones. The reef was sluggish and marginal but with the odd fun one. Today mid maroubra. A bit patchy at times but some pretty decent steep walling rights coming through, shoulder to head heigh.

The banks aren't good at the moment. They need size and period otherwise it's all a bit shapeless and dead. Also very tide dependant. It can be working one minute, and screwed the next. We need another huge swell or two to shift some sand about.

Scarborough yesterday was as fun as it gets out there. 2-3 ft peaks all the way along the beach...busy, but so much choice it didn't really feel like it.

Been out of the water for months with injury, so it was a very satisfying surf. Surf satisfaction meter: 8/10.

3-4 ft (albeit a tad inconsistent) sets and offshore winds rolling through the middle of the day. Take that in December all day long. :)
