To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Surfed Lahinch on a rental mal once. Was with the mrs, not a surf trip. Saw many waves, corners, angles, possibilities. Wind changed constantly. Looks like putting in the hours would pay off. Not ideal for non surfing companion relations

what do you mean Phil?

country looks amazingly beautiful. Are you saying a non surfing companion wouldn't appreciate that?

Couldn't a non surfing companion be fascinated by the natural history, local culture, geology, beauty, people pubs, etc etc etc?

I don't understand what you are saying.

the waves in the video look amazing.

I surfed in Donegal bay a couple of times the peak at bundoran was pretty good fun, I also had a good solo session at easkey left, it is a bit fat but with a bit of size made for a memorable session, stormrider europe guives a pretty good run down of most of the popular spots. I also hunted the antrim coast for a few days but there was pretty much no swell. i love Ireland my partner did spend a bit of time waiting for me in cars due to wet weather but she enjoyed the other aspects of travelling in Ireland. there are far worse spots to spend some time whiling away a few hours.

If you are in the neighbourhood Scotland is worth a check if you know where (and when) to go.

i'm saying my wife doesn't like sitting around waiting for me in cold, wet, windy places.

'but darling! what about the history, culture and geology? so much to admire!'

would get a kick in the nuts.

her family is irish.

Honestly? Do any of you have wives, or should I say partners, god knows what kind of obscene couplings have to be accounted for, who will happily drive endlessly along infuriatingly narrow country lanes in the relentless summer rain on the off chance of you finding an offshore moment in some obscure sheep ridden corner and then wait, peering through steamed up windows with only local Irish radio for company, for a glimpse of you, the beloved, flapping and flailing in the rapidly deteriorating surf? Honestly?

Steve,

I was in Ireland 3 years ago. Stayed near Spanish Point. Downside of this area is that when the onshore blows no-where is protected. Lahinch was barely breaking while Spanish Point was solid. County Sligo was a different story. First morning I was confronted with a bay which had lefts breaking on one side and rights on the other. Surfed with a French guy and next day on my own. There are probably way more options, many more than I checked out. I stayed in Enniscrone which was short drive to other places. Met up with a Sways guy down in Cork, which was flat and we surfed on the Dingle peninsula. Huge tides and local knowledge needed but quite a few waves. I hope to go back to Ireland. We were there in May and I was so stoked when the temp got over 10 and the sun came out. But the waves, people and food. Amazing history as well.

they had the gaelic football tournament for southeast asia here on saturday. i went and did a bit of filming. chatted with a fellow from sligo who said he was very happy to be living in vietnam, not back home. the weather he said. this one girl on the team from malaysia was spectacular, good at football and sexy as all get out. amazing legs - long, shapely, sweaty, shiny. i might have zoomed in on them a couple of times. the football was alright too. was a good day.
