What, there's no sharks out in the sea?
Re: Sealife
Pretty decent sized ray jumping off Kings Beach this morning - just out from the boatramp.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Saw a school of flying fish this arvo scooting across the surface...that was a first for me. I gave the international clubbie sign for flying fish alert. Nobody did anything they just all looked at me weird.

Heaps of little whalers off deadmans and bower this summer. They're cool little guys.

How safe would it be to root one, do you think?Coops wrote:Heaps of little whalers off deadmans and bower this summer. They're cool little guys.
Re: Sealife
Wouldn't waste my time trying to root a shark. There's whales, dolphins and Even Dugongs to try rooting. Now a starfish or sea cucumber would be interesting to try rooting. Or a Blue Ringed Octopus. You would just have to try and root it without touching its beak.
Re: Sealife
Yeah you could bung it in a blowhole when they surface. Would be a wild ride.
Re: Sealife
Heard a dog barking out at sea one night, no sight of land. Skipper said it was a dog shark.
Re: Sealife
I was surfing carparks once and a large tailor* launched out of the water and hit me in the shoulder.

Tiger Fin popped up 10m away @ Sunshine Beach. Overcast day, ocean was black and flat as a lake. One of those spooky feelings before I even got in. A week later surfing down the road at Castaways, guy next to me spotted a fin. Always had a weird knack with animal spotting.
Re: Sealife
Camping up at Teewah this summer, I was buzzed by 3 blacktips in the one session. I was out for a dawn session with my old man which was nice, and the water was crystal clear. Paddled out to meet him out there and his first words were "There's a bit of shark action out here". Not 30 seconds later the first noah popped up about 10 metres in front of him. It was quite cool actually, they would have been no bigger than 6ft long and were just chasing the fish in and out of the gutters. Stayed out for about an hour and a half, got a few good little waves and then saw something a lot bigger cruise across the bank and into one of the gutters about 40-50 metres away. Figured I'd call it a day then
(The old fella wanted to stay out! We did for another 10 minutes, I didn't want to leave him by himself out there haha)

Braithy - I can look at a guy like Sonny Bill Williams, his physique and face, and appreciate, he's a good looking guy

be glad it weren't a shark dog, they've been known to hump your leg, after they've chomped it off.daryl wrote:Heard a dog barking out at sea one night, no sight of land. Skipper said it was a dog shark.
