She is but we are looking for a house at the moment so there needs to be limits. When I said "I've" I should've said "We've".

I was riding a 6'6" quad fin scooter.
Then I picked up a 6'8" scorpion and it was bye bye scooter as the scorpion was more versatile.
While its 6'8" everyone is suprised when they ask me out in the water about its dims.

Re: For the board junkies. My next new stick.
I just got out of the water from taking a jackson venom for a paddle. Quad fin 7's and gx i think. Didnt look close enough and the surf was so small that it probably didnt matter.
On picking up the board i noticed that it felt quite light for its size. Couldnt believe my eyes when i read the dims, 6'8 x 22 x 3. Didnt feel that wide or thick. Rails are more refined than the boxy rails im used to on my waterskate.
It didnt feel as thick as my waterskate which is 6'8 x 21 x 2 3/4.
The venom has a lot thinner rails and tail than the waterskate and is more flat in the rocker. The waterskate paddles better which surprised me. Probably because of the nose.
It was only 1ft at wanda this arvo so ill reserve judgement until i can get the board in better waves.
After a short paddle:
The pros: being able to get up on the nose to get over a fat section.
Turns really well for its size.
Cons. Doesnt paddle as fast in flat water so getting back out in bigger surf could be a bit of a task ( good for exercise though).

Jet, if you like that sort of shape can you get your hands on a Scorpion to demo?
I too have a 6'8" Scorpion after hearing Cuttlefish & Ric froth about them. It sounds very similar to your description of the Venom - it feels so much smaller than the size would suggest and is quite refined for a board with that much volume. Its super versatile for the usual crap we get 90% of the time, I have used it from total mush (ie, 1ft Manly today), to well overhead with no issues.
Yes it is a surftech, but I really don't notice too many differences to a PU board, and it paddles brilliantly!
Well worth a try if you can find one.

You'll need to get over all your mass produced products in your house first before taking anyone to task about one mass produced surfboard.
It's like the Billabong ad for their recycled water bottle boardshorts playing in the breaks of the Chopes webcast.

What about marketing a viable alternative to a plastic bottle in the first place? <:
Good ole industrialised us providing a band aid solution to a problem that we created for a once clean living people.
Now back to tastey single fins.

Re: For the board junkies. My next new stick.
Those scorpion/venom type boards look like a shit load of fun for junk waves. Interesting to hear about the thinned out rails on them. I'd imagine the smaller the better with that wide arse nose??
Re: For the board junkies. My next new stick.
I gave the venom(scorpion) idea the flick for now. I decided that while ive still got a longboard ill use that for nose riding (not that i can do more than get the odd 5 over anyway). If i ever snap it, ill go down the venom path then.
For now ill just focus on getting used to surfing a single fin.
I went in and saw Patto about fabric inlays this arvo.
Ive got a nice black and white photo that id like put on my board.
Ive just got to find somewhere that can transfer it onto a suitable fabric.
Any ideas?

It's almost impossible to see that board in the pic.
Got a proper link?

Congrats Jet, some of Stuart's recent stuff is amazing,
....though I can't get past the fact that you got such an awesome wedding present from your future wife. The only thing I got from mine pre wedding was a lecture about not getting drunk and making a fool of myself.
How does she go?
....edit: I mean the board not the wife

Looks like a nice board, can you post more details on the shaper?
Good to see that you've given a local shaper a go.. Not a machine in Thailand..

I got the same lecture before the wedding, but was lucky enough to get the board also....
The board is like a marriage, challenging, but if i put the time in, it will pay off.
Chalk and cheese compared to the other boards i have. Nice to be one something different.
