Interesting - silicon seams, do they break down or something??
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
c-skins are now selling out of BASE @ Manly. the 3/2 feels very heavy.
best rip curl @ the moment is their CORE Fireskin e3 Xpandx 2/2 or 3/2 or higher [not sure how thick they make them]. VERY soft and flexible !
and the seventhwave MAX 2/2 is awsome. but get the back zip if available...big design flaw with bib/chest zip is water leakage either side of and into the neck collar area - and next to impossilbe to get it off ! buy when AU$ is high.
i'm mainly a Sydney Winter surfer so adjust accordingly

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I probably won't buy rip curl again after two ebombs, sure warm and flexible, but the zips are crap and the rubber in mine simply perished away and all thats left after one season of solid use is the mesh they glue it to. There's not much consesus on here or any othe rforum I'v visited, so I opted fro the best fit for me and bugger the price. Ended up with the Peak climax sealed chest zip for $330.00, its ok for that price and if it dies by this time next year I'm still a coupla hundred better off. Early results are mixed, its warm and very flexible, but there is a bit of flushing though the unusual neck arrangement. Mind you it a lot easier to get in and out off than some of the others i tried, which included rip curl, billbong, quicky, oneal, excel and hurley.
Your opinion is worth as much as it costs.

And more importantly, does this mean you can get discounts for your mates over here on RS?

my shitty 'local knowledge' flatlock 3/2 has actually got better in it's second season, musta stretched it out good last year. i can see it lasting awhile considering it doesnt have those stupid glue welds.
only cost 150 clams too

I only paid $150 for an Excel 3/2.
Is that good?
Don't really need it in Qld except for those days when the souwesterly gets a bit of bite to it early in the morning.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I reckon it all depends on your build . 3/4 of the wetties I try just don't fit. If your not 5"10 with footballers legs and arse and a bull neck to boot our in trouble.......
Oneill psycho 2 back zip and Excel Infinity chest zip both seem to be best fitting for me and warm/comfy. But reckon the chest zip sucks unless they are sealed completely on one shoulder otherwise ya get flogged and water passes straight through.
Got a 6 season old Billabong gold solution that I use for 18-20 degrees and its still going strong , my mate got one at the same time didn't last a season...............ya just got to hope you get one that comes out of a good batch regardless of the brand.......

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
So what is the correct way to treat a wettie Rob?
You obviously know your shitt when it comes to rubber: won't ask why.

And DON'T piss in it.robzig wrote:• Fresh Water.......and a lot of it! Put your suit in a bucket or sink of fresh, cold water and get it inside and outSo what is the correct way to treat a wettie
• Fresh Air.........Then hang on one of those broad coat hangers outside in the shade. Not the sun as it will basically cook your suit and break down the neoprene.
Simple.

I always do the second, although I hang mine up in the garage on a very broad hanger (used to be the one for my wedding suit )robzig wrote:• Fresh Water.......and a lot of it! Occasionally do the first.
Probably why it has lasted for 4 years
