Not sure about this one

Every so often you get a challenge. This is a challenge. :D

I got to think about this one long and hard. The damage is even worse than it looks after removing all the unattached glass and the damage extends round to the stringer. Also a massive compression between the centre fin and the (sans) left plugs.

How? I asked. Girl’s board, comes in with her boyfriend and apparently the result of her miss timed rock-off at Dee Why point... lost the lot including her bikini. :o Rather attractive she is too.

Yes it’s a mini-mal and from China, do I care? Yes! First and foremost have to change the indicated rough price.

Well they found the right person didn't they Ric.

What a mess.

No doubt your ingenuity will come up with something, but how much strength is there gonna be in the repair?

Show us an 'after' shot if you can.

bog it up ... sand it back into shape ... wrap a decal around the effected area ... tell her to hang it on the wall as a funky decoration to show everyone how cool she is 'cause she once took up surfing ... if you're gonna buy a mini mal from china and have the ability to f'ck it up that badly, it should be hanging on the wall ...

What'll that repair cost? I don't know anything about the girl and how well she surfs but really, she should just buy a cheap second-hander somewhere...

What about cotton wool soaked in resin mixed with white pigment, buid up the rail and then sand it back.
Sure it will be heavier but the board will then be saved and not thrown away as toxic landfill.

That’s the problem, Jimi, really put my foot in it as was put on the spot but will have to let ’em know it needs to be adjusted UP.

Basic call from those that know better is $150.

Thinking I might just cut the section away and glue on a discarded rail band and start again. Her other board (shortie) is in for repair as well, but only minimal as opposed to mini-mal damage. :D
