The whole frggin forum is screwed :?
86kgs
5 foot 10
33yrs
Surfed on and off for 16 years, last five years all year through.
Board size 7 foot, not sure on the dimensions off the top of my head but its got enough volume to support my weight. It's a good all-rounder and that's what I like about it.
Only ever ridden thrusters, tried the Fat Bat (quad shorty) and quite liked it but I really want a nice 9 foot mal for the smaller days. Mate has a really nice Trigger Brothers one which I've tried once or twice and quite liked.

Re: What board size are you?
6'4" / 19" / 2 3/8" are my current dimensions. Last board was the same except it was 6'3".
39 years old / 5'11" / 80kg / 20+ years surfing
As for RS, I can no longer access the topics at the bottom on the RS main page as that "Share a cool link with us!" form is covering half of the "Our forums" window.

Re: What board size are you?
sorry jake … just stuffing about …
5’10 80kg, approaching 43, losing hair and patience ...
rode foamies till age 10, shortboards since then, no breaks just a little less surfing when the kids were babies … live with irreparable damage to back and right leg following serious road accident in early 20’s which f’ck’d me right up for a few years and changed my surfing but thank god have been able to continue surfing … surf most mornings and paddle out in just about anything because I have a motto that if I went to the effort of getting up early and heading to the beach I may as well paddle out … do not stick to one spot , I move around the northern beaches depending on what’s on offer and how much time I have … however I avoid Avalon because the coffee is sh!t and I like a nice flat white after my morning surf …
ride rounded pin thrusters max 19” wide and have since thrusters became mainstream …. presently have 6’4” everyday board, 6’6” bigger / fast wave set up, had a 6’10” but recently unloaded as not needed on the northern beaches …
many happy returns Trev ... hope you get a toob for your birthday ...

Re: What board size are you?
Iggs , not really that it's a rule ... it's more just the way it's been ... the guy who shapes my boards has done for about 20 years and although he experienments etc he has been consistently a rounded pin rider as well ... he has done a lot of work on rounded pins and northern beaches surf conditions and has developed the tweaks, particulary in the bottom third of the board that keep it all going even when it gets smaller so the extra width isn't really needed ... also , I am into surfing a lot, but not into having lots of boards, so I tend to work on getting boards that work when it's better surf and am just happy to work with what I've got under my feet when it's not so good ... a simple approach I suppose ... I've often thought about getting a little swallow tail but whenever I take one for a test ride I just don't feel a significant benefit ... when it's small and dribbly there just ain't that much I can do about it I figure ...iggy wrote:with you all the way on the rounded pins loving, but why max width of 19"?Surfin Turf wrote:ride rounded pin thrusters max 19”
is it a bodyweight to board ratio thing, or does the 19" width still keep the outline round and loose enough for really small days?
every time i'm in small stuff and jump on a board around the 20" mark i feel spoilt and don't want to get off it

Re: What board size are you?
5"9 & 71kg
Ride a 6'0 x 18 1/2 x 2 1/4 rounded square.
Next board I am thinking of going a little narrower so maybe 6'0 x 18 1/4 x 2 1/4 rounded square.

Re: What board size are you?
I am 50 years young and about 65kg and about 5'8"
Currently have a
Haydensahpes fibreflex squash tail 6'4" x 18 3/4 x 2 3/8
Jim Banks Mk III 6'2" x 20 1/4 x 2 1/2
Thinking of getting a JS Nitro model either 6' or 5'10" for those smaller days. Has anyone ridden one of these, feedback appreciated.

Re: What board size are you?
I am 35 ( for 2 MORE days ), weigh 75 kg's and surf nearly everyday. I started when I was 14 years old so that means I have been surfing for nearly 22 yrs, farrrrkkkk I should be ripping...
I currently have 6 or 7 boards but the main ones are 5'7"x 20 3/4" x 2 1/2" Fat-Bat ( the original of this design, still goes great ), 6'1" Quadfather ( 6 plugs to try many different fin options ) and a 6'3" x 19 1/4" x 2 1/2" CDD/Epoxy....got a 6'0 Fat-Bat on the shaping stands that I am pretty keen on but also need to shape something to handle the bigger stuff, might do a 6'6 or 6'8 rounded pin me thinks....
oh yeah, I am about 5'9...
