Fiction? Yes, well, you're not far wrong, Trev. Although we like to call it "permission to believe."
Ah, jargon. Reminds me that
The Gruen Transfer is on ABC-TV at 9pm tonight. It's all about advertising and the reviewers like it.
But more importantly, what explains Poostance's name?
And Trev, are you any relation to Mister G?

Had to google "Mister G". Do you mean the long distance runner guy? No.
Not having the talent of a copywriter, I just went for my first name and surname initial. 30 years in marketing and 20 years freelance motor sport journalism, you'd think I could be more creative wouldn't you. Actually I would have been happy with just TG but would have created havoc with "The Goat"
as for "poostance". Scary stuff

No idea when my next surf will be
Got down to Gunnamatta at 7am and was riding waves around about the time I should have been on a train to Melbourne
I want to thank the people on this thread that motivated me to do it

Coops is just very proud of his DY 2 foot slop that wouldn't knock over a toddler with a broken leg!
Ringa Planning on being out by 7.30am on Sunday - best chance to beat the bigger crowds.

Looks like pathetic typical full vicco surf to me.
My bet is that set wave out the back didnt break until it hit the inside and cumbled into yet another non barreling "wave" .. and i use that term loosely.

You're right Coops....Hatchy put up a poor example of this mornings goodness but the same swell that produced that shapeless line was hitting the reefs over this side lined up and spinning down the line quite nicely thanks..............
and for your own safety Revulsion, that's just a 4 foot closeout on an East Coast Vicco beachy (probly Rye) so...........
waaaaaaay outta your league Mr 'rescued at 3 foot' gutslider
We need to take some of these NSW real-surf booger heroes out on a nice 6ft+ Southern Ocean swell down at Gunnamatta or Johanna one day Ringa.
Just to watch the little sh.its drown!

I think ill be ok if its 6ft by your standards hatchman
I think i would drown in vicco, between the fat useless waves and the ball inversingly cold water id rather kill myself.

Not bad!
So by my standards then, how big were the waves on the day they had to save you from the surf?

8ft. Although im sure others will be willing to tell you other. (plus not possible to body surf in with exposed kungi rock 1/2m out of the water in the way)
edit: i went into a whole barreling waves vs weak full slop but i thought cant be fucked justifying myself.

8ft is pretty decent by my standards as down here that would be a pretty powerful wave - especially at places like Gunnamatta

work in the city 8.30-5.30 so no chance of mid-week in the winter..
the occasional 'orthodontist' appointment gives me a couple of late starts, as do paid sickies..
other than that, i guess i'm the spastic floundering around on the weekends..
anyone need another roommate to fill a room around DY?
7-3:30 one week, 8:30 or 9:30 to 6:00 or 10:00 another week, work on a lot of Saturdays 8-5
This was the bludgers job some guys dreamed about, until it turned into the worse job ever. Might get moved to another place, don't know if I'm coming or going. It all changed this year
.
Still working on a Master's that has chewed up a lot of the last 4 years (I am slow)
.
The "7-3:30 one week, 8:30 or 9:30 to 6:00" gig looks ok for daylight savings
