Doing an arvo shift 3pm till 11pm was gold...

Heaps of surf time, then going out on a thursday/friday night, you'd get to the pub or nightclub late, all the blokes are smashed and it was easy pickings on the nubiles 8)

I drive 30mins to get to the beach and I start work at 8am. If there's swell, I still get 1 or 2 'early surfs' in a week (provided the sun gets up before 6).

If you are keen, you'll make it happen. An early night and a great wife that prepares brekky for you helps as well :) 8)

Is it because they are too intimidated by 45 of the 'best' surfers in the world being in the area at the same time?

I'd love to watch Slater, Parko and Andy surf live but to have them all on the same bank as you would be mildly frustrating to say the least... Not to mention how gumby I'd feel doing a 'turn' in front of them...

Which reminds why I'm so glad I moved away from the Gold Coast hehe

uni like alot of the other boys...this year i havent been getting out as much as the workload is starting to increase.
i have two more years to go so i will keep living the life until i finish my masters and get a real job...
also work 1-2 shifts part time at a local club to pay the bills as well as a bit of help from the government yeow

State govt job. Flex hours means I just have to avg my 35 hours a week, only have to be at work for core hours 9:30 to 3:30 on any given day, as long as I make up the hours other times.

What's with all the TV work - what sorta things do you guys do?

(despite the good hours, I'm looking to get out of my current job, so if anyone's looking for an '04 business (accounting) grad with 3-4 years experience..... I'll check my PM inbox soon) :lol:

Pretty much work when you want and no one blinks an eye if you duck out during the middle of the day....

I used to be a marriage counselor until I realized that working makes me tired.
So I stopped working and now I spend my days eating in fine restaurants and surfing all day.
Surfed every day this week so far.
Everyday I wake up and think how lucky I am. :D :D :D

Beautiful kid and wife. Financially secure. Beautiful home. Surf just about every day. Give to charities. What more could you ask for.

No chance in hell to get out during the week. Don't do it if you want to surf more than once a week.

Freelance storyboard artist and designer. Working primarily on Animated TV series. The stuff that keeps your kids happy while you're out in the water!!
About 4 - 6 hours a day keeps the schedules in check so the rest is mine...

"Working" from home is gold.

surprised no one else said this, im a personal trainer. work 6am til 9am, then 5-8pm each day. EASY!!!!

Cancer research, which is govt funded..I really don't even have core hours or total hours...I used to be a subbie in the building game and that was pretty flexible, but this science research job is the biggest rort I have ever come accross. Lovin' life.

sports development for sporting organisation.
close to the beach (5min drive) so lunch time surfs are regular.
Boss surfs too so if the lunch break goes for longer than scheduled its all good.

I was made redundant from full time work 3 weeks ago. Now I surf every day and pick up freelance TV shifts on the weekend. I'm loving it to pieces but my wife is worried about the future so I guess I'd better start looking again...soon.
