places like Cairns are flat 24/7 and have shit that can kill you in 15 seconds. i'd rather some ripples than no ripples at all :o

iggy's right
sunny coast pumps, solid reefs, chunky beaches, shories, point breaks...
so much diversity for such a short coastline. if it got more swell and had less people, it would be all time.
ps. the reef is the best wave in the world
the goldy is a hoax, i surfed dbah with over 80ppl once, and the sun hadn't even come up! fucken circus
stradie is epic but still, the crowds!

You seem keen, and I'm always up for it. So PM me and we can get together for a quick knee-trembler.

I'll come around when that short-arse boyfriend of yours is out surfing and we can do it in his bed.

to ride great big outdated surfcraft, to surf in packs of 10 and scream wooooo at least 10 times per minute, throw your board when a wave comes and then go get a latte....

If this fails get a paddle to go with the Titanic surf board ....

beaches suck.......narrabeen is prolly the best and that seems to be fat most of the time. the reefs are epic....island, vooey, ours, deadmans but not enough consistent swell. redsands, headies, crackneck etc only 1hour away not too bad

Sydney has an awesome mix of thumping beach breaks, reefs, points and beginners waves. It has waves most days than not and can handle large swells. The fact of the matter is they decided to make Sydney here. Its just too crowded and thats the only problem.

Sydney is the second best stretch in NSW for surf behind the South Coast. Be proud of where you live. Long live Sydeny!!!

im going to put it out there and say that sydney is the best city in Australia for surfing. The goldie is good but the crows are a hoax. Perth is small and onshore alot of the time because of Rottnest Island. Melbourne and Adelaide require travel to get waves and its cold! I often think if sydney was 250km further south, hence less crowds it would be epic. Think of the variety of beachies and reefs we have!

hawaii might be the spiritual home of surfing, but sydney is the surf capital of the world.
