Bruce Irons not looking too good.
He's looking a lot better than Andy.

Wave pool enthusiast, Kale Brock, gives a pretty honest review after his test drive at the soon to open Sydney wave pool.

I don't think wave pools have "changed the game" at all.

I learned that homebush is considered 'inner west'.

They have if you are a well-funded learner.

It looked very underwhelming. Even on a below average day in the Sydney area, I reckon you’d be able to find a more fun wave in the briny.

Pretty shitty review actually.

Brock "forgot" to mention the most crucial factor: cost.

His demographic of cashed up adult learners will mean that air section will never be seen.

And the wave looks clearly smaller than the Melbourne tub.

I think any slight criticisms added into the review are simply to make it sound objective.
Of course Kale is going to be favourable of it. His business is dependant on urbnsurf.

The real question- in a city built on the surf are there enough cashed up kooks willing to throw down a 100 for a surf session.

First 12 months, yes.
Long term, maybe.

The return on investment must be many years away though.

Yes, he likes wave pools and they are great for his business and he’s a freeloading appreciative guest of the facility. But, there were some interesting comparisons with Melbourne, the visuals/film edit showed the facts and did not put a fake gloss on it and I was interested in the segment about the advertised but rarely seen air section.

I hope I see the day when they all go broke and get turned into frog ponds.

Yeh, I will try it at some stage for sure.
I’m not really interested in learning to do an air at my age.
I’ve released the fins in turns but never completed a proper air. Always bailed before attempting landing them.

You won't get to ever try that air section Buddy.

Kale said they will only use it for private sessions with exorbitant rates.

I know, and I wouldn’t pay for it anyway.
I’d at least try in the ocean first if I was interested

Melbourne isn’t Wavegarden technology is it? That’s the same as Wales I think?
That wave looks very ordinary compared to Melb. I was keen but not so sure now.
