Yes, I was, Al. Living at Nth Bondi still at that stage I think. Friends lived around the corner in Hastings Parade. You could look over their back fence to the ocean where the sewerage pipe came out. Always lots of birds and fish swarming around the plume. Also quite often a trawler catching the fish. Didn’t eat fish much in those days. :P
Few things have effected property prices more dramatically in Australia than moving the sewerage pipes 7 klms offshore at Bondi.

Again bumpy NE swell under overcast skies - at least warm water.

Got about 15 waves all around shoulder high,100m rides. In the water at 6am, only half a dozen of us, glassy. Another 10 or so came out after eight, I got out at 8:30am, wind went onshore at 9am.

Back to riding in the hills today. Perfect riding condition, saw two other riders. Rode a great track with about 30 odd berms and 30 jumps, all downhill. 40 minute ride up, 10 minutes down. Repeat and I'm done.

Keep your eyes open cranked. Lots of big fish around including right where you were yesterday

Worst time of year. I haven't been for a few weeks. Not afraid to admit I'm afraid and the small swell makes it easy to catch up on chores instead

Having a shocking run here too.
The winds the main problem.

Spring is my least favourite time for surfing.

Same up here.
Northerlies, small short period easterly swell.
But just enough gems to hold the interest.

Too many scrappy SE winds in Sydney. Nice conditions this morning with a bit of drizzle and no wind. No swell at Bondi. A bit at Bronte this arvo but the wind was getting into it.

Indeed. I’ll surf better and bigger waves than that tomorrow. And it’s hardly a hyped swell event

Australia has a very, very, long surf coast. No surprise that the surf gets good somewhere reasonably regularly. Still, it is not where the top surfers generally go on their surf trips. There are better places.
