Big at Bronte. About 6 out. Bondi out of control. A couple out at Ben Buckler.

I saw that breaking one time and a guy took off. Proned out down the face and then stood up as the whole wave turned into one big lip.
If you imagine that wave hitting the reef and pitching.

Checked it out this morning. Smaller and one guy paddled out and sat there on his own until a racing ski came out from Coogee.
Hardly breaking and a big bait ball was out there just before he paddled out.
Bronte biggish and crowded.

Surfed flatty, out the back beyond the rock.
No one else was sitting up there.
Got some nice ones, then, waiting for a set I heard a loud groan and swooshing sound from behind me.

I turned around and looking back between me and the rock was a bloody whale.
Freaked out for a sec and put my feet up.
Looked around and it disappeared, then a dolphin popped up right beside me and freaked me out again, and the whale then came up on the ocean side of me.

Not everyday ya get that.

3.5 hour surf (can't remember last time that happened). Small local crew. Barrels galore.
