I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

There's a small group I asked for feedback on.
Didn't get any so I'll process them now.

Got baby no. 2 due in under 2 weeks so I’m going to need tangents to read with all the free time I’m sure to have.
Can’t see the “special” threads anymore but no one posts in there anyway.

What special threads?
Everything else is unchanged.

No surf here today so we're making this plastic model kit of the Lavochkin La-5. Haven't done this for years, forgot about the sticky fiddly little bits.

I used to just throw them out. A tendency that has been noted in my work habits since.

Those Soviet warplanes were pretty shit, weren’t they?
Apparently the La-5 was one of the better ones. Still got shot down lots. Those Fw 190s must have been hard to beat.
Soviet pilots were generally satisfied with the La-5. "That was an excellent fighter with two cannons and a powerful air-cooled engine", recalled pilot Viktor M. Sinaisky. "The first La-5s from the Tbilisi factory were slightly inferior, while the last ones from the Gorki plant, which came to us from Ivanovo, were perfect. At first we received regular La-5s, but then we got new ones containing the ASh-82FN engine with direct injection of fuel into the cylinders. It was perfected and had better maneuverability, acceleration, speed and climb rate compared to the early variants. Everyone was in love with the La-5. It was easy to maintain, too."
Nevertheless, La-5 losses were high, the highest of all fighters in service in USSR, excepting those of the Yak-1.
