Quite the opposite old chap. Well at the moment anyway. Uranus must be in Capricorn. It may well pass.

The cutest shore break popped up yesterday. Benevolently gave access via a steepish drop that continued into a banking little speed trap. Finished skating into about 2 inches of water. Happy days.

That's what surfing is about I reckon, Thudster. Those great little days that pop up out of the blue.

After a couple of hours a shadow went under me that didn’t surface so I made my way in, feet up catching a few along the inside. I definitely thought of that massive beached sperm whale near sth Bal.
A few years back I was out there by myself sitting on my board and a ray flew up from behind and went pretty well over my shoulder - needless to say was initially a wtf moment

I've had spinner sharks fly up within metres of me on several occasions out there (well the left on the south side). Freaks me out.Wubic Pig wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 9:44 pmbuddy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 5:56 pmA few fun waves right out behind the rock at flatty on the low tide. You do feel like you're way out in the ocean out there too.

Same thing happened to me at Cudgen Reef one time. It's bloody sharky enough out there on your own without leaping Rays.Wubic Pig wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 9:44 pmbuddy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 5:56 pmA few fun waves right out behind the rock at flatty on the low tide. Fun peaks around after the tide started dropping. And bugger all crowd for a Saturday.

Paddled out for my first surf in a while. Same old outside bank with crowd. A bit dusty but caught one set wave that had a nice steep drop on the mal. Floundered around and then caught a screamer that kept holding up right down the beach. Pulled out as it hit the ridiculously shallow shorebreak and then managed to navigate myself in without getting smashed. Stoked.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
We`ve been lucky to get some swell down here this weekend . Hoping with the push it will put the sand back so no more big holes . One thing I have noticed too and so have a couple other locals , the crowds are right down . Surfed corrimal during the week and was the same . With our swell usually most places are packed including home , port and the farm . Second session today I opted for the farm and that was only because there were less than 40 people spread out when I paddled out at 2 . Home had no one out and whilst not great still had a bank that was lining up nicely . I guess I was a victim of if no ones out I`m not going out - I`ll find somewhere that has people out .
Has anyone else noticed this in the last week with all thats happened with the big fish ?

Anyone up for surfing the bombie? What I hate is its nearly a k out to sea and right at the SE extreme of Ulus so when you come off there's a good chance you're going to get 20+ plus waves on the head as you get swept in the river of water moving down around the point and on to padang

Well smaller where I was but still fun NE swell plus offshore wind.
