What’s an Australian foil? Made for slight more powerful waves. Thinner tail and nose?
Based off Keith Paul’s 70s boards.
I think the Maui foil was more a step up/ thinner and the Aus foil more an all rounder.
Click the link on gumtree.
I only saw Keith Paul surf once. Out at Caba. He took off in front of the headland which no one did in those days and gunned it across the first section. Nice cutback. Great style.

I mean, tastebuds? WGAF?

Ok, sold my vouch mid VISH for what I paid for it. I’m just not a keels guy, I’ve tried short boards with keels and just don’t like, I guess. But I like a mid length in the mix.

So grabbed a CI Mid. My shoulder is pretty buggered but can probably surf once a week between pain.

Surfed a 4/5 foot beach break today on this new board. Was pretty impressed by it. Easy to ride and feels so sweet, so smooth and cruisey, in half decent shoulder/head high surf. Had the wrong single in, too small however got the gist of the board. Hell of a lot of fun. Will def be better with a larger raked single.

What size you get?

My setup is glide fins 1+2 - 6.5 GPS (pornstar) with 4” side bites
They seem to go really well. Haven’t tried anything else

Yeh, 7’2

Tried a 6 1/16 with 4 inch sides. The centre was too small so putting a 7inch in and reckon that with the 4’s might do the job. Having the centre fin a cm just behind the back ends of the sides.

You enjoying the board and set up? What you riding it in.

Today had a bit of push. This thing just cruises through it like a big cruiser skateboard or snowboard.

Pretty much everything. If there’s any flattish sections especially so I can connect the dots.
My centre is clustered right to the back of the bites.
Would be better back further on the bigger days but as I had to shim it I haven’t been fcuked to change it.
I like to set and forget.
