fucken great day here, swell a bit more bangy and difficult and it seems the COVID crowd has eased off. Thickened up late this arv, very muscular for its size, a little bit of sse bump.

Meanwhile my pals in Hawaii are losing it, the nth shore as been pumping and right now an absolutely marvellous 12’ plus WNW swell is brewing with light winds upon landfall. They can surf but nobody can visit. There's nowhere on Earth I would rather be right now.

That swell was end to end close outs here for the late apart from the wall.

Went to my usual mal spot today. I’ve never seen so many people with surfboards there in my life, not even at Easter or Christmas and I’ve been going there for 50 years.
The forecast has been promising perfect swell and wind for a couple of days, and it’s Sunday so I knew it would be busy but this was extraordinary.

Fuck this morning was good.
It had that longer period with appropriate but not too lengthy lulls like you get in the south and the west where you’re happy to get pumped by a set and it’s easy enough to get back out.

Caught 3 set waves to pull off with a dry hair paddle back.
Heard it pumped all day but I had to work.

Well I think as the cops gave warnings and fines at Lennox, the tourists and vans are just pushing further south.
North wall crowd looks like dbah (just check the RMS cam), I surfed a spot where I surf to avoid crowds and there were multiple vans and troopies with luggage on top, about 8 chicks with their bums out (sorry Larry), mals, mini mals, hipster fish, unbuttoned wetty vests, all for the early on a Tuesday morning.
Unheard of here.

Looking at the crowds out at The Bra yesterday arvo and Bronte for that matter I won't be rushing down to join them in a hurry. After being out of the water for a few weeks I would prefer to have a pleasant surf rather than a crap one.

I had a surf at Wanda last Wednesday. Before that my last surf was up at The Entrance about a month ago, Nth Shelleys and Soldiers Point.
Nothing around today. Since I haven't been able to get in a bit of paddling I really need some user friendly surf to get back in the vibe, man. Looking at the crowds battling for close outs it's been nicer looking at the empty beaches really.
