Avoca, sort of a 2/3 ft summer half close out that allowed a few turns.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Manly but the super high tide just swallowed up the swell

The swell muscled up a bit early this afternoon. Bendy was out of control 6ft plus and closing out, a real mess. The only rideable wave was the island which hung in at about 4ft with the odd bigger one.

Plenty of parking too
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Fcuk surfing, it's really just an excuse to find a good park. Just admit it to yourself, leave the board on the racks, lean back and enjoy a good park!

My favourite beach when I lived in Cronulla was Garie in the Royal National Park - just a 35 minute drive away.
Stopping at the top car park to check it out was a pleasure.
Sometimes the rain would flood the causeways, but you could still get in (just) using the Waterfall Road.
Just before I moved to Perth I was contemplating buying a block of land in Waterfall for $30,000. In retrospect I really regret that I didn't.

I think everyone has a regretful real estate opportunity that they let go near a beach.Cranked wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 9:04 amMy favourite beach when I lived in Cronulla was Garie in the Royal National Park - just a 35 minute drive away.

Yeah, predictably for me......Crescent Head. $40 Gs for small blocks around the back near the swimming pool.
Bondi was looking good today. Bloody crowded. Floated around in the crowd and decided to give up eventually. Then snared a cracker right through the inside. Went back out and did it again. Lacklustre left to finish but I was stoked to actually grab a couple. May go down again later.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
There's a great reef break near me, a famous NE slab esp for the lids, but it goes ok on south swells. About, say 5 or maybe 6 minutes drive.
AJ picked me up today, light wind, East. Not ideal for anywhere much, but not strong enough to affect the south swell which was still coming in at 3-4 ft occasionally (for the record, mate surfed Garie this morn. Heavy, dredging low tide beasts coming through. He was the only taker.)
AJ came through about 9.30 after a sleep in, being a little poorly of late. I don't know what it is about this guy, but he has an affiliation- no, obsession! with The Farm. So, as we passed passable waves, the decision was made to hit the highway for the ultimate Dad Wave.
And what a wave it was! High tide, wind ruffled, fat slow handers with around 40-60 surfers bobbing like mad. We decided to turn around and drive back to Sandon. Grom Comp on.
Finally, after 2.5 hours driving we ended up back at Headies, with two other surfers enjoying some chunky, heavy hitting reef runners.

The farm needs to be double overhead on the sets at least or else it’s bring your own Valium. Fun when big.
Headies can be mean as fk. It’s in Wales, right?
