Rough guide for fin length, shape??

Post by Beerfan » Sat Jun 03, 2006 6:32 am

My 7"6' minimal is set up as a thruster, but when i got it i snapped a side fin. Being a cheap bastard, i just snapped the other side fin and filled in the holes. So, i have a fairly small centre fin, and that's it. I am thinking of cutting the centre fin off, and adding a large fin. Is there a rough guide as to how deep and long a fin should be??. I am at best an average surfer, and am looking for an all round fin, as it is an all round board.

Any help would be much appreciated.

This is going to end up costing you more than fixing the one snapped fin, donkey! :D Plus you might not like the way it rides as much when it’s converted.

Fin box it and about 7-8" fin.

Knock all the fins out then it will be an all round surfboard, as in spinning all around when you try to turn
