7'11" as well. There's a youngish guy who rides an 8 footer at Bronte a fair bit and goes real well on it.
They've been around for a long time. I got mine after I had soft board he made for a while. It just seemed to fit the wave well. When I got my Carver it was at Manly..Aloha I think. Went for a paddle on a head high peaky day at North Steine. Just felt good from the first wave.

Here’s the link, the writing on the stringer looks like it’s a Tuflite? https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brighto ... 1209641318

The first Surftechs had a tuflite decal on the deck by the leash plug and the later ones a small surftech 'S' behind the back fin plug. Also the surftechs didn't have a stringer - pretend or otherwise - and the fin plugs were integrated not drilled. The dings look like PU too. I'm saying PU and I'll stake my spotless reputation on it

Actually maybe some of them did have a pretend stringer

Same as GSTQ, pretty sure it isn't a Tuflite. They always have the logo and that's a wood stringer, the pretend stringers are just paint lines

I've ridden them a lot, Carvers are great boards IMHO, a 7'7 or 7'11 would suit you well MM

Doesn't look like a tuflite. Pin line and stringer look like PU. My Tolhurst tuflite however has both pin lines and a faux stringer. Looks good.

MM, what I think Cranked is saying is that you might need to go a little easier on the pie floaters before the 7’6” is a feasible option.

I turn 61 tomorrow too Foamy
Nah I still use my 6’ 7” Miller Fish sometimes, so it won’t be too short.

Getting old is a cnut of a thing. So fcuking inevitable.
