bit of a rubbery definition as to what makes an egg.

I think we need Tootr in this thread....I've got a feeling he will make magic.

I've got a thick homemade one from a template huie gave me. Been taking it when I take the family for a surf lesson in baby food surf. 6'6" X 20 1/2 X 3 with roll up front to midway ( rolled up rails from bottom, not fully rolled bottom ) to flat. Super floaty and paddles like a dream. Haven't worked out which fin is best and being a home made job it's a bit rough lol. It's fun but I'd love a similar one made by a pro.

If you like your 7'7" you'd probably love one

I really like the 7'10 Takayama Egg. It's a hull with knify rails, and almost a gunny shape, just a bit wider in the nose though. I don't know how it relates to the Flow Egg.

It's a thruster setup with a centre finbox. But the finbox is only about 7" long and came with a 5.5" fin.

Really nice flowing ride. You can happily ride and turn if from just about anywhere on the board. The turns can be quick and responsive.

So far good in knee high to double overhead. I see no reason why it won't handle any size waves. I'd love to try the 7'6 and the 7'2.

With all those curves its not super fast, but it gives you heaps of control in good waves.

It's a one board quiver.

I was going to take it out in double overhead plus the other day, but at the last minute changed my mind and took the 6'8 McCoy.

My concern was trying to control the board in a close knit pack with regular set waves well over double. It was the right decision, but if it was less crowded it would have been ok.

Is it an egg? A minimal? A mid-length? Who gives a fcuk. Bought this yesterday off Gumtree.
Firstly let me say I have never owned or ridden anything except conventional short boards, albeit longer than most of you are used to, but not where I come from. I do have a Grant Miller 6' 7" F-Skate which is a fishy shape and it goes great in the kind of surf it was meant for, so it gets me out on days I probably wouldn't have gotten wet otherwise.
So anyway this should be interesting.
7' 6" x 21 1/2 x 2 1/2 way thinner than anything else I own, most of my boards are around 2 7/8. Double concave at back, slight roll up front, quite a lot of lift in the tail, knifey rails up front.
PU foam, solid glass job, futures boxes, made by a guy in Adelaide who makes a lot of boards and glasses a lot of boards for shapers on the west coast.

Are those big chines or glossy cutlaps?

Crazy concave bottom. Handles knee high fatties to punchy overhead. Loves a wall with a nice pocket.

Subtle vee bottom nose to tail. Comes to life in walled up powerful waves from head and half high to bigger than double overhead. Insane board, carves like a knife. Have had a couple of good barrels on it so far. Cronulla point and inside bowl mid maroubra.

Yes I own a Campbell egg. 7.2
It's a lot of board, the next would be 6.8/6.10. Still, it's a very fast down the line section beater.
None of this two/three pump bottom turn pap.
One comment some guys make is "urrr it's too retro" The only retro thing is the planshape. Low but very smooth continuous rocker, rails that wouldn't be out of place on any HPSB. Don't forget Malcolm Campbell has been working with Merrick for years.

This one isn't new, but when it was in getting some repairs I got a finbox put in so it feels new.
It's a double -ender shape from the late 60s, with modern contours (quite a deep double through the back) and quad setup.

Goes well as a quad, but I always had a nagging desire to try it as it was originally designed, as a single...plus I ordered it a bit big (6'6" x wide X thick) for me to throw it around (brother has the same in 6'2", what I should've got), so it's become my longboard-beater. Taking it down Byron way tomorrow for a few days.
