Fish

Post by JET01 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 7:49 pm

Had a twin keel south point epoxy 5'10 once. Sold it to a mate that has since sold it. Felt a bit big for me at the time but it was ages ago.

Thinking about getting back on one after watching the Fish doco on iTunes.

Don't see many around these days. Especially after FireWire stopped making them routinely.

I'm 5'10 tall and 78kg.

Thinking a quad.

Love them but if you don't surf a point regularly I don't know. A big part of me selling mine ( and a knee injury ). I prefer keels though.

Get a good one and you'll have a ball. No taller than you and don't be scared of width through the outline

I'm loving my singles but when it's mushy and weak they're not as much fun.

21 1/4 my old one was. 21 Seems pretty standard.

I reckon they aren't that great in weak mushy. My jd sweet potato is way better suited for weak and gutless. Fish was so much better in faster waves with decent shape.

I surfed a twin keel quite a bit, but found it a bit limiting. Heard about the Speed dialler and found out Dain Thomas was doing some thing similar.
Double flyer quad fish. Pulled in tail, modernised rocker, big single concave to flat/vee out the tail.
Magic board.

What is this Fish doco you speak of Jet? I gots to see it

Cutie what are the dims on the Wasp?

I have a few hybrid fishes (Mackie and Psillakis) and I'd even say the Quartet is a a hyrid fish of sorts. Always get waves on them and cut back city.

Jet I'm on a Quartet trip just now. Love it

I'm glad it's not closer to my place. I'd be broke and living off bread and beans.

6' x 21&1/2" x 2&3/4" (2&3/4" is eyeball measurement).
if you're younger and/or fitter a 5'8-10" for 90 kgs would be heaps of foam.

Google fish surfboard documentary. Available in iTunes and a hunch of others. Stars Steve Lis, Derek Hynd, Mark Richards, Donovan, Rastovich

The was a 5'6 quartet in Finbox too. Too small for my weight. Nice board. Doubt I could live with glass ins though.
