Was eyeing doing one of the art collab Gary offers for the deck in hopes the deck can take more pounding.
Never had an FE but the boards I ve got from Gary have held up really well, the decal/print is pretty & seems to add some strength. Mine have a bit of dent under the front foot & that's it. My tt is 18 months old now & still going strong. It still has the flex & feels the same as when I first rode it. I have no idea about his normal PU boards.

That was mesmerising, such a nice long playful wave though. sigh....
I often find that when I get all excited coz of a nice Swell & early SW breeze grooming the conditions....I end up disappointed. The waves close out or my selection/positioning is crap....I often have my best surfs in light onshore conditions probably because I have low expectations, & my tt shines in such conditions

Cv2's arrived, Quartets gone.

Got a set of the rasta futures quads second hand to try, first glance they look a bit small but will give em a crack!

Mine arrived last week - i have some rastas in them and they work a treat. I have been really happy with the CV2 so far. Fast, loose, and far more performance orientated than the planshape suggests. Has left the ol' pin tail quartet for dead. Keen to see how it performs today in smaller conditions. I'll post some pics shortly.

Cool batoes, havent had mine out yet but it looks great. I was concerned it was going to be too somilar to the TT but I think its a fair bit more of a better wave board which is what I wanted.

I'm 5'6, 70kg - board is 5'6, 19, 2 5/16 - performance rails so he volume feels lowish.

Just had my CV2 out in 2ft high tide beachie - grovelled better than i thought. Super fun board for sure - will have to order a CV1 for summer slop. Need to sell some boards...

Cv2 is 6'2 x 20.5 x 2 3/4 - gary refines his rails a bit so doesnt feel corky at all.

I am 6'2 and about 93 kilos

No i don't - only because JaM71 speaks so highly of it as a performance groveller. High time i get a fish back in the quiver. Would love to try a TT - but maybe too much crossover with the CV2?

That deep single channel feels really good under foot. You can push it pretty hard and haven't slid out - happy with the fins too. Can't imagine a reason to have to buy anymore.

You know Batoes, I was really concerned that there would be too much of a similarity between my tt and cv2 however the cv2 is much more refined - definitely a better wave board.

Saying that though, the cv1 may be much more of a better groveller... then the tt...

Interesting you say that. It seems like the TT has a narrower template - are the rails fuller?

my CV2 the rails, tail and nose ,width and thickness is refined and narrower. Perhaps it was just the way Gary shaped it for me due to me telling him I wanted it as a step up from the tt for when the waves got better...

Maybe a CV1 with a more refined nose?
