You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Midlengths
G'day Trev, had plenty of fun ones at my local. Not crowded too. Bet your spot has been fun.

Re: Midlengths
I ordered a mote massive- didn't hear anything for months, picked up a mid six which felt great under the arm, moment of weakness, bought the fecker. Forgot all about the mote.
3 months later... my mote was ready (10 months after ordering), had it for a couple of months now- magic board.... haven't ridden the mid six since

Re: Midlengths
Can we get a bit of a comparison there JaM ?
What’s good or better about one or the other?

Re: Midlengths
The mote massive has a beautiful foil, it's a blend of a single fin and a twin fin in a midlength package. The foam distribution is even -more old school which allows beautiful trim particularly over flat spots and goes surprisingly well in average surf. Better waves is where it shines, and likes to be surfed more back footed. It allows different smooth lines, carving arching turns....Any footage of toren martyn will give you a better idea of its capabilities in good waves.
I haven't got close to the same feelings on the tolhurst- maybe it's too high performance oriented for me, maybe it's the soulless corporate construction or maybe I am just apathetic and can't remember! It sounds silly but I just don't have the desire to ride the mid six, I look at it but then I look at the mote....

Re: Midlengths
Fair enough. I kind of thought the Tolhurst was trying to use a few features from those boards. They look good.
Hard to know how the MOTE boards go based on Torrens. I’ve got friend who has one and really likes it.
I’ve surfed a few various Tolhurst shapes and they all go great. Good info.

Steve’s article on Swellnet covering a fair bit of ground discussed on here. Not sure if Nick would approve of the sentiment though.

There’s a guy who’s got about an 11’ Munoz tuflite out at Bondi. Second one I’ve seen out there over the years. He gets a lot of waves.

Re: Midlengths
Steve’s article covers the transition stage when midlengths first developed but he misses the brief resurrection after the 70 World Titles in Victoria. Nat was riding 5’10” square tails. Wayne Lynch was on about a 5’6” double ender and Rolf Aurness won on about a7’6” from memory. It was also when a lot of guys first went to Indo and needed gunnier boards.
There were a lot more boards in the 6’4” to 6’6” range and plenty of more refined 7’ shapes.I think most of the midlengths around now have more of that DNA.
