An old school mate used to surf there when he parents took him down there. Always looked like a fun novelty wave.

I've surfed inside the Tweed up from Fingal a few times.

Near the boat Harbour? Surfed there alone many times during big easterly swells.

Just that little beach inside the Breakwall on the Southside.

On big easterly swells you would get waves down pretty much opposite the RSL.
Big sandbar in the middle of the river.

I must say Trev I was usually looking elsewhere when big easterly swells were rolling into that neck of the woods. So, missed seeing it ever break.

No. But some punter I was chatting to in the surf reckons his was pretty good. The only possible issue is Joel Fitz can ride a door so watching him surf his own craft might be a bit misleading.

Yeah, nice all rounder... my current midlength is feeling a bit flat so might be due an upgrade. Joel's prices seem reasonable for that kind of board.
Would prob go a single with side bites Cranked...

But I do like the possibility of putting two small thruster fins as sides, and a 6" centre all the way back

I have a similar style of board, and my advice is to Gona little shorter than recommended.

You will probably be tempted to go longer and have it as a pseudo-mal, but they have too much rocker to compete and are way more manoeuvrable than you'd think.
The width makes for a very forgiving platform for floaters and foam bounces too.

Was thinking 6’10 or 7ft, kind of a sweet spot for me, plenty of glide and flow but can still move it around.

If it has a big V starting early with a decent rail could be good. If the rails to knifey and it’s subtle double to single might not go great.

I know where there' 2 x 6'10" Sea gypsies that have only been ridden 2 or 3 times. One is a 2+1 and the other a thruster. Both in stock 6'10" dims I believe.

The one I linked belongs to one of the staff I've known for decades. He has a 6'4" he loves in the stock dims (surfs it well and looks good underfoot) he was curious how a 6'10" would go but found the 6'10" without dropping the stock litreages was too much foam for his liking.
