Pretty epic Jet, how do decide what to ride? Took the 8'1 single out for a play late this arvo, didn't look much but I had a pleasant surprise. Sat the furthest out and picked the sets off. Got a couple that walled up on the inside and the 8fter felt "loose" lol

Deciding what to ride isn’t always easy. Just depends on the size of the waves, how much duck diving is involved and how many people are in the water.

The PCC is about as old as this thread and is usually the longest board i ride, period. I do have a 9’0, but it doesn’t get used often. I’ll ride it in 1-2ft, or if i’m really out of shape. The rails are more boxy then the other too, so way more paddle.

The seaxe is a bit of a one board quiver for someone like me, from the gong to old bar, I haven’t found a wave that it really doesn’t like. As long as it’s not too sucky on the take off.

The JB, I recently to Sumba, as some of you may have already read. High performance. 3ft plus board. Rode it in 3-6ft long point breaks. Absolutely hauls arse down the line. Section connector extraordinaire. Great board on a trip when the arms are tired and you need more foam. Can’t wait to take it back.

How’s the seaaxe holding up mate?

Really well. I had a run in with a guy on a soft board at Cronulla on the second or third surf which resulted in a small fin chop to the nose. Been getting around with some duct tape on it for about a year. Had it repaired just last week. Haven’t had to clean the deck off it, but it looks and feels like new. Bought a futures tri/quad set off eBay the other day (modii fins). Might throw some quads in it and see how it goes next time i’m up the coast.

Duct tape repair on an EPS board for a year?
That was brave.

Rode my JB today in 3/4 clean waves with a little push. Fun.

Nice Jet, you can certainly mix it up with those options.

The grey or black stuff works every time. Make sure the surrounding area is clean and dry. Get a pair of scissors to cut clean edges on the piece of tape and make sure you put it down carefully so there’s a perfect seal around the edges. No crinkles anyway and you’re dancin’

Haven’t ridden it as a single. I have ridden my seaxe as a single and it loved an 8” Alkali fin flex.

shaped this 6'8 as a bigger wave board. first surf today in 3ft barreling peaks. it is a very drivey, tube pig. looking forward to getting it into some juice

Fondled this Ron Goddard board the other day. Farking sweet board.

8’ by 21 by 2 5/8. Some foam in the middle but very foiled out. A big carving knife this one.

How does it stand up like that?
I reckon a stiff steel rod embedded in the sand behind it.

Or maybe one of those surfing chicks with the ticker tape bottom fabric up the bum just walked by.

He has a dowel rod with a little timber platform nailed on top.
Sticks it in the sand and shoots photos, then edits the stand out later.
