Loose heavy board with low rail. All about the single Fin position and back foot. That's what I find. In clean waves with push 3-5 its great. I had the single to far up the box to start, popped it back a little and it still was nice, loose and drivey. Enjoy!! I have a refined version that Jye reckons is more shortboardesc...keen to hear how yours goes in good waves.

I’m a massive fan. If I snapped it, I’d have no hesitation in replacing it with the same board. And I don’t say that often.
I don’t mind admitting it, but I bought this shortly after seeing a clip of Devon Howard shredding on an orange 7’2 in a similar size. It’s now my focus to have fun in the slop, but to try and develop some style and flow when it’s cleaner and more powerful.

I’m 37years 5’10/177cm and 82ish kg’s and mostly surf cronulla. I do a bit of work up and down the coast from as far north as Coffs and have the odd trip to Ulladulla. When I go away for work my 2 board quiver is the seaxe and either a 5’9 Midas or my 6’ PCC.

Loves point breaks (like most boards).

Had a couple of amazing surfs at Saltwater and Cronulla point in the should to over head range.

Cheater 5’s, full rail turns, great paddler for its size.
It has a decent amount of curve in the rocker (not as much as the sub moon), does well on steeper drops. I’ve even had a couple of tubes on it.
47L board that doesn’t have a full longboard nose so it actually duckdives fairly easily.

Haven’t tried it as a quad. Only as a single and 2+1.

Once putting the side bites in I haven’t taken them out.

Currently have and 8.5” Salty merchants lady violet aura and some honeycomb medium quad rears. Seems like its doing the trick.

I never see these in the surf. Firewire have done pretty much f#@k all to promote this shape. They’d sell shit loads of them with little effort if they got their sh#@ together.

You’re not wrong.
It’s taken me 10years to admit it, but going too short too early is probably the single biggest mistake a surfer can make.

Totes. Or even going short at all, especially bigger lugs.

Centre is 170mm deep and 120 base (6.6in)
Sides are 95mm deep and 92mm base (bit smaller than a GX)

Took it for a paddle up at the beachie on Saturday. Conditions less than ideal. 2ft @ the alley.
Was nice to get a feel for it. Great size board for me. Love how it paddles. Can’t wait to get it in that 3-4ft range.

Nice looking board jet, I'd love to put it through its paces.

A new season on the bukit starts for me soon, its gonna be a long one as usual and the best year ever I reckon.

First up it will be the last try for the zots. This time with Winged keels or 6.5" centres and medium fronts. I think the keels are going to work best though.

After that it will be the nuggets (6'8, 7', 7'4 and 8'), starting with the small ones and moving on to the bigger ones as the season progresses.

I had a board with versatraction for a while. It’s pretty good stuff. I would get it again for sure. No wax is brilliant, in the water and not getting wax all through the car.
