This one is shaped by Paul Hutchinson who makes incredible looking boards, never had the pleasure of riding one of his boards but have dribbled over plenty. I am sure it will go well with such illustrious pedigree:

Trying to get my head around the "splitting of hairs" between the whole mid-lengths thing. Think I'm getting close.

MidLength = board between 7-8 foot long, based off a longboard, has a single fin or 2+1. Is "cool". Why? Because Steve said so.

BigBoy Hybrid = board between 7-8 foot long, based off a shortboard though with a fuller outline and "rounder nose", thruster or quad. Only "cool" if ridden by a cool/renowned surfer, that is either now old or overweight or both. Never cool if ridden by anyone else. Why? Because Steve said so.

MiniMal = board between 7-8 foot long, a detuned and simplified blend of longboard and shortboard elements, with a "round nose", thruster set up, possible hibiscus or frangipani decals. Is NEVER COOL. Why? Because Steve said so.

Have I got the definitions down pat ???

There's always room debate, that's why we have the Realsurf Surfcraft Assessment Committee.

I think they are currently struggling with the appropriate penalties for any infractions of the rules: Crabby is advocating various punishments of a perverted sexual nature; Steve is leaning towards a more rigid application of the rules and is liking banishment for small infractions and stoning, amputations, etc for more significant violations.

There was a new 7'4 for $700 in bali last time I was there. Red and full gloss. For me, I like the balance of the widepoint just enough forward and just enough area in the tail.

Maybe I'll get a custom big boy hybrid with one fin and decorate it with frangipanis. Confuse the fk out of the RS approval committee

Call it the "cube monkey".

that sounds like a winner Iggs. If it takes off you might get your own model with Firewire.

Simple

Board has "ouvre" = mid length
Board doesn't = minimal

:)

Yeah sorry go fish. Trad outline just not too wide and the tail is super thin. Waiting for the shop to put one on the try out rack

They have a Sunova fish, again super thinned out tail and low rail volume. Would suck if I liked that though, $$$$$$$$$ lol

Machado makes them look good, problem is: I can't think of a less representative surfer than Rob Machado, he's about 45kilos dripping wet and a tiny little bloke.

be funny if fish became cool again though.
