Same one as me, if you read a bit you can find out.
My mother would have said that word for word surfy :-D-:
Yes, an egg, but a "flo egg" or is it an egg as shown on surf tech website or are they the same thing?
signed confused
surftech have a website???(did she say that?)

Flo's Eggs made those youbeaut scones!

Flow Egg is the Taky model.....and definitely a design that can cruise and carve.A very capable all round design despite all those reviews that its a non rater.Closer to performer than the outline suggests. :-D-:

Really guys?
A fish is a full nosed board with a wide swallow tail. I get more dubious if they are thrusters....or if they have narrow noses.

Yes, an "original fish" can be decribed that way, with keel fins....if ya wanta wander back to 69,these days anything with a swallow tail is called a "fish"

McTavish called his swallow tailed thing a "Bobsled"....it started as a performance fish, but one I own has a round tail. :-?

A "fish tail" is a lot deeper than a swallow.

The Californian Steve Lis is a cripple(knee rider) who is credited with inventing the FISH, however a split tail design was around, but not popular way back in the longboard days.A triple stringer with the outriding stringers ending with points.

Speed/carver/whale/groper which fish is for dinner tonight?

6'6 fish isn't a fish
I've often thought the same thing.
6'0 the cut off?

Well I'm not making the distinction...the shapers are.
I can safely say the fishcuit and Tolhurst don't look like anything else.
Tolhurst made them up to 6'10".
Whether they go any good is another matter.
Personally I reckon the revival of the fish came with guys riding longboards.

About 12 years ago I had a Margo Pro considered a "big guy" shortboard. It was 6'6 x 19 1/2 x 2 1/2. No nose and foiled to the max towards the tail. My next choice was a 6'10 Big S by Simon Anderson, a longer version of his high performance XFC. That was it for the 100 kilo plus mob. *That's why fish (hybrid) and possibly Bonzers are popular, in shortboards anyway.

But in proper short board land what was a fishy design 10 years ago in some cases can be considered performance now.

* yes yes McCoys where around as well and probably had their modern hey day pre Hyptos taking the market

I've recently reafirmed that about 7' is about just right for me as a regular ride board on good waves. Not comfortable on 6'6". Had another try but not the go.
I've got to have another run on one of my 7'ers to get myself up to speed again after riding the mal.

Really gone off regular fish shapes after goofing around on the one I fixed up. I'm not prepared to modify my surfing that much to make it go. Narrow quads and thrusters are the go without big swallows.

A quote
"fish are what sharks eat" from a well known shaper to someone who rang him and asked him to make a fish design. :)

I took my 6'6 "fish" (quotes just for Davros) out this morning it was loose and fast with just the right amount of drive, and paddled in easily.

Dims are 15.3" nose and tail, 21, 2.5.

I have not been completely happy with it in the past, but using MR TX twins with a small/medium thruster fin in the centre has finally given me the feeling and performance I want
