My fatboy had a good glass job. Glassed at MONA Vale.
The Nat Young board was a specific backhand board with boxy rails, big concave and a really tuned flex fin. I don't think Nat shaped that many himself.

re: mark rabbidge's boards & glassing. mine's the only one i've ever owned (it's 2nd hand) and the bottom of the board has a fair few smallish round depressions. probably a combination of a not-so-dense blank and light glassing? don't know. but yes, the construction leaves a bit to be desired. but the board itself is fking insane and i love it! draws lines like calligraphy

It's a real shame.
Best glassing I've had have been from Miller and PCC.

Yep, very bloody good.

Can't fault the guys who do Npj's or Gary McNeils either. Very high quality and a credit to their industry.

i agree - my npj 2+1 has held up and i have flogged it in big waves.

In other mid length news, i just got a 7'6 GH space pig. Super keen to give it a whirl, but i think the swell is on all weekend...i'll post some pics once i get a few.

Be interested to hear your feedback. Those rails don't look easy to surf..

for sure - they are really pinched and the roll the belly is incredible. I just sold my hull - which was a great ride, but too short and i have my log for sale up on ebay and gumtree, which again is excellent, but too long. I'm trying to get the right mix, right in the middle - the Goldy locks board.

I saw an olive coloured 7'0 on the bumtree yesterday for around 6 bills. Looked nice... but I've never surfed a rolled bottom. Aren't they for lined up glassy points?

If i was ever going to try something different I'd get Patto to shape me a v bottom.

I think so - but i got it for the farm, which is often like a point. I can't get over how foiled out it is. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. The hull took some getting used to, so i'm sure this will as well.

I'd love to have the time to get down the Farm more often... had a few good sessions on the right hander over the years.

Love getting down south a bit. Werri point too.... love it there on a midlength.

I think the Farm is a really good midlength spot - the wave just rolls on and on when it's working. Werri is another good spot too. I'm hoping some of this development out at South Beach Shellharbour will build some banks and create a few more options.
