Cardboard surfboards anyone?

Well if the mythbusters guys can build a paper boat that floats them both for a few hours cardboard surfboards can be made.

They look nice and lightweight but my concern would be durability eg. How would the fin stay on? How would they handle a collision with rocks and a subsequent repair? Etc

... lot of work gone into his designs and supply. Check out this one for example:

http://www.sheldrake.net/cardboards/make.html ... so you can either get the files, and source your own cardboard and have it cut, or he'll do it for you and ship anywhere in the world. Might have a go at making one, one day ...

My brother in law is making a boat from plans off the Internet.

I'm intrigued by this sentence from the German lot: "... With this tool, which we created in a "spare time project" , you can load in and process almost any surfboard shape you want..."
